You all know that I'm loathe to buy digital products, but I have no idea if The Grinder is going to come out on blu-ray or DVD, so I admit that I'm tempted to buy The Grinder on Amazon, if it's there.  But I would much rather have the physical copy any day of the week.  But one-season shows sometimes don't come out.

I'm confident it will come out on DVD given that it's a full 22 episode season. But don't quote me on that. And yes, I will pick this up on DVD myself. It's a must-own.

Helix (Season 2) Netflix & probably SyFy.

I really enjoyed Season 1 of Helix. The pace was quick and smart. Lots of reveals throughout the season. Characters were great as was the storyline.
Trailer below.

Season 2 on the other hand seems to be written by a whole different group of people. Trying to trace the virus down, the setting is one island that has a cult following. I'm finding it very corny. Especially since they are focusing on 'Immortals'. Yea, I guess people who live forever. I'm only in it for 3-4 episodes thus far and struggling to find it keeping my attention.

Accidentally ran across MTV doing a big block of Ren & Stimpy. I never turn on MTV.  :-\

Gawd, this funny stuff. Just over the top craziness and the visuals to drive home the point in a way only animation can do. Constant grin and laughing sooooo much.

So I've been watching the new Match Game as they've been coming out, and there was finally a must-watch episode.  Match Game is a tricky one to do in this day and age.  While our minds are certainly still as filthy as they were back in the day, now our mouths are as dirty.  It used to be that you needed a dirty pun to avoid saying what you were thinking out loud, and that I think was part of the fun of the game, but now that's not there.  It was a game of suggestion, after all.

Alec Baldwin is... an interesting host, especially in the first episode because it felt like he was hosting the show against his will and that **** me up.  I just got the sense that he hated every moment on stage, which if it was intentional, was sheer brilliance.  But after a week at the job he's starting to get into the groove.

But what makes the show is the panel, and the panel last night was perfect.  Not just because of the people on it (including Jack MacBrayer, so red he looks like George Hamilton), but the fact that they abandoned any sense of decorum.  They were already allowed to drink, but last night they were getting up and walking around, talking to each other, sharing answers, and Leah Remini conferring with Leslie Jones was priceless ("I've never been scared of a white girl before!").  H3ll, one point Leslie Jones, who admits to having no poker face, got so upset she got up and walked backstage to vent for a second.  And one of the players got a perfect match the first time through, so the show didn't have enough content to cut that stuff out, they had to show it!  Game shows are always entertaining when things go wrong (that entire "you fool!" episode of Hollywood Squares comes to mind), and I hope this level of insanity continues, because that made Match Game a must watch for me.

Started Stranger Things on Netflix last night with the first episode.

Love it. It absolutely hooks you. It instantly throws me back to the classics from the 70's and 80's. Great characters, interesting story. First frame throws you into the mystery.

I can't watch to watch the rest of it.

So my sister just swung by, and we were chatting about a lot of stuff, and she mentioned she knows "the girl from Stranger Things."  Not Elven ("that's her name?") but Natalia Dyer/Nancy Wheeler.  And looking at her IMDB, I think they worked together a couple of times... including a movie I show up in!

I'm confused. You were in a movie with ? Sis? Sis and Dyer?

And this zoomed around on the internets... Eleven (Millie Bobbie Brown) getting her head shaved for the role.

Natalia Dyer, who plays Nancy Wheeler, was in this movie called "Blue Like Jazz."  There's a scene where the main character starts his first day of college, and I'm seated right behind him.

I know I have a screencap of it somewhere.

There was another scene I was meant to do where I was part of a hard-drinking fraternity, but that scene got moved, so they decided to have my sister do it (far more believable), but then it wound up getting cut anyway.  I haven't done anything like that in a long time, even though I'm apparently pretty good at standing around and not getting noticed.

Apparently there is a career there. You might as well get paid for it.
