I'm shocked that Whose Line Is It Anyway? is returning and yet, not all that surprised. Now if you were to based it off of what transpired in Season 10, yeah, I'm scratching my head that it would warrant a full 24 episode / season pick up. Yup, you heard right, it's back for 24 half hour episodes due to strong ratings. Personally, as you guys already know, Season 10 was a bust for me. It had it's moments, but as a whole, it was very lacking, especially compared to the great seasons of years past.

With that said, as much as I bashed last season, I know I will tune in and hope they have worked out some of the issues that just made last season a chore to get through at times. They need to go back to some of their better 'games' instead of trying to force the 'Sideways Scene' down our throats, one that doesn't offer any surprises after you've seen it done once. Returns March 21, 2014. That's 11 days from now for those that have trouble counting on their fingers.  ;D

Same channel. The CW. Time, you'll have to check local listings for that.

Got wind of another "Sneak Peek" clip from the up coming season. Um....yeah. It was so bad that I'm not even going to bother posting it. There was NOTHING funny about it. This season is already in the toilet if that's the best they can come up with.

You know, about two months ago I was considering entering the Nickelodeon writing fellowship, and what you have to do is write an episode of a current half-hour sitcom or comedy program, and I kept thinking that the only one I could write was a Whose Line.  I just thought it would be funny, at least it would be different than everyone else's... maybe I'd get a little credit for that.  But I think it was probably a bad idea, which is why I didn't go through with it (and really, there's no Nick show I would really fit in with, Turtles doesn't need me and Rangers wouldn't use me and I barely know what else is on there).

But I was thinking about it today, and two of the games were:

* Two line vocabulary: it's The Walking Dead, and Colin must decide if his ragtag group should stay and fight or retreat to safety.  Brad, the only things you're allowed to say are "I think that's a bad idea" and "you wanna taste of this?"  Ryan, all you get to say is "You go first" and "can I be in charge?"

* Either "change" or "whose line," but the basic set-up: Colin, you're the mother of dragons, and you're using... it says here you're using your feminine wiles to persuade brave knight Ryan into helping you take back Westeros.

I'd say go for it. The premise sounds very promising. If anything, you're gonna have something to call your own whether it's turned in or not. So, I'm 100% for this idea and it's definitely something I wanna read for myself.  :)

The only reason a vast majority of stuff I write gets written is probably for myself.  But I figured you'd dig this too.

I write a sh*tload of stuff (stories, shorts, jokes, etc....) just for the sake of writing because I enjoy the process and a lot of it is in fact just for me. So, you should write it, even if it never sees the light of day, which you're already doing anyway. Props.

You know, once upon a time I'd written a pretty good hodown.  No idea where it is now.  Though I really should have a new one for the spec ep.

Episode 1

I'm a few weeks behind, but I finally caught the first episode, which I wasn't really looking forward to based on the underwhelming TV promos. But damn it, this was damn funny. Having Greg Proops back on the show immediately made this feel like an episode of yesteryear. He may not have had much to do in this one, but it was great just to see the four of them sharing a stage together. Also, they stuck with popular games that we've enjoyed in years past. Guest star Kat Graham was great, especially during Song Styles.

Episode 2

Good, not great. One of the problems that plagued last season were the Guest Stars. They really need to bring on people that have some sort of improv background. They don't need to be masters or anything. Just people that can think fast on their feet. Tara Liinski does not fit the bill in that department. She was literally a deer in headlights. With that said, there are some very funny moments and the 'Sling-dong' and 'Bronze Medal' running gag in particular got plenty of laughs.

FYI, I had a conversation with my Mom about Season 2 as she is a big fan of the original american series and she said they need to bring back Drew Carrey. That is a very telling indictment against Aisha Tyler and the main issue I have with this reboot. She's just not a good emcee for the show. I use to knock Drew about his "skills" as an improv performer. With him now gone, I realize that he did in fact bring a certain charm to his hosting duties and is sorely missed.
