Xbox One Backwards Compatible! - E3 2015

Talk about a awesome opening day for E3. I can't ever remember seeing so many great games on Day 1 of any previous E3's in year's past. Even though I'm more of an Xbox fan-boy, I am always curious to see what PS4 will bring to the table. The big news for me and a majority of Xbox players was the announcement that Xbox One would finally be backwards compatible to play Xbox 360 games. THIS was the sole reason why I have been a later adopter of the new console, which I haven't gotten around to buying yet. With this news today, Xbox One has just become a priority for me, especially with all the games announced today.

Star Wars: Battlefront Stage Show - EA 2015 Press Conference

Today we finally got some long overdue game footage of Star Wars Battlefront and it doesn't disappoint. Probably the best game play I saw all day. Amazing and it was better than I'd hoped for. Seeing that the player gets to play as Luke, going up against Vader on Hoth at the end gave me a nerdgasm. The environment and game physic blew me away.

Dreams Gameplay Trailer - E3 2015 Sony Press Conference

I didn't even know about this game until they hit the stage. Holy sh*t!!! This game/creator is going to change the face of DIY animators. It's for this very reason why I will be picking up a PS4 eventually. I can make a lot of my scripts a reality if it's as it's being hyped.

For Honor Reveal Trailer - E3 2015 Ubisoft Press Conference

Very pumped up for this one as well. Hopefully this doesn't turn out to be another Rise, which was a big fail in my eyes at Comic Con when I played the demo.

Minecraft for HoloLens E3 Demo - IGN Live: E3 2015

This is the one that everyone will be talking about forever. The HoloLens just made me a believer that this sh*t can actually work. Prepare to have your mind blown. I still can't believe what I just saw. Daaaamn!!!!!!!!!! I wouldn't buy this for Minecraft because it's not a game I play. But knowing what the HoloLens is capable of, I look forward to seeing what it can do with games I do play.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End E3 2015 Trailer

Totally agree with Neumatic. You know what's cool is that when I do pick up a PS4, I will be able to buy Uncharted 1-3 before jumping into 4.

The Nintendo "Conference" this morning, in my eyes was an EPIC FAIL!!!! They literally phoned it in and didn't even bother to show up at E3. Instead of a Live Presentation, they chose to just submit a 45 minute long infomercial in place. One of the best things about E3 is seeing the fans react to whatever game they are showing. To me, this just tells me that Nintendo just doesn't give a sh*t anymore and have conceded that Microsoft and Sony are dent-proof. FYI, every game they presented in the infomercial bored me to tears. This may also be why they didn't want to go 'Live" because they knew the reception would be lukewarm at best and would look really bad when critics pounced on that.

Yeah, that's pretty weak.  The Mario Maker contest thing was cool, I was on the edge of my seat when Mario had to jump off all those turtles and avoid the big saws everywhere, jesus!

Nintendo has... well, I haven't heard anyone say anything good about the WiiU, and I think they know that there's not much more enthusiasm they can muster for it.  I do notice that their schedule does seem to be full of their classic titles "Mario, Sonic, StarFox, Zelda" and some new ones, but I notice it only goes to 2016.

So I'd like to hope that they're either working on a new console, or I've heard that they were considering porting to the iPhone (the most powerful gaming device).  It'd be neat, I think, to see classic games and IP designed without the need for buttons, it'd be a heck of a design challenge and one that I think Nintendo could pull off.

Update: here's that video of the guys trying to beat this impossible Mario level.  Edge of my seat for 1985 graphics.

I do like that Super Mario Maker has the looks of original Mario, Mario 3, Super Mario World AND the 3DS versions.  How long until tech gets to where we can make custom Mario 64 levels, that what we all wanna see!  Yeah, there's been Mario 74 and Star Road, but wait till the public gets to start making their own levels.

Cupheads (Show Floor Demo )

Out of all the AAA games announced at E3, it's Cupheads that I want to play right....f*cking....NOW!!! Love the old school, retro animation. It's "old" looking and yet it feels oh so fresh.

It's real cool that they can make a video game that looks like that!  South Park was one thing, but this?  WOW.  I wonder how long it will be before we have a game that looks like prestige Disney animation.

I was thinking while watching the "Kingdom Hearts III" trailer how neat it would be to have a true Disney game.  Like, not an adaptation of a movie or anything, but like having the Disney guys design a game from scratch, so it's like you're playing an original Disney film, experiencing it for the first time. I think that'd be real neat.
