Gears of War 4 Special Edition Xbox One S Console Unboxing

So, I finally found a great deal on an Xbox One S Console a few days ago. It arrived yesterday, but I couldn't get it to log in online the traditional way. I had to download the Update Offline and transfer the files via Flashdrive. Anyway, as to why I didn't bother picking up the Original Xbox One Console, I was never going to buy that Big, Bulky Box. I knew they would eventually release a Slim, albeit 2 years after the fact. Anyway, I went for the Special Edition Bundle which includes a Redeem Code for the full game for Gears of War 4. The console looks sweet. The console design itself ties in with the theme of the GoW franchise and looks and feels amazing. Love the Controller too. This console has 2 TB of internal HD storage and thank God I got it with that much space because I nearly fell out of my chair when I activated the code for the game. It's a whopping 60+GB download. Seriously, what the f*ck! I think the biggest download I've ever had was GTA V and I do believe that was around 10GB in size. I could be wrong on the exact number, but I do know it's nowhere near what GoW is. Sheesh. It has been downloading for a couple of hours. Only half way complete. Ack! Not sure how much I will get to play tonight giving how slow its taking to download. Sigh.

So, I'm still navigating around the Dashboard/Home Screen and seeing all that is there and came across a very nice surprise. I have the option to re-download previous games that were installed on my Xbox 360. Not every game is available though. There are a few that are missing. Not sure why that is but I wanted Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag on this new console. But I have about 15 other games I can install whenever I want. I won't be doing that for the time being as I'll be busy with GoW4.

Okay, been playing Gow4 for a couple of hours and it's insane. It's unrelenting and I'm totally out of my element here. It has been a long long time since I've played any Gears game and that means I have to relearn all the button combo's and all that jazz. My hands are fatigued already. The first 45 minutes or so was really good. It's the prologue to the events of everything that happens in Gears 1-3. So, it was nice to revisit that, even if it was using a different COG soldier. Now I'm onto the man story line with the new characters that will carry Gears 4 the rest of the way.

FYI, the visuals look amazing. Really blown away at how good it looks. What's really cool about owning this Console is that this is my first Blu-ray player. So, I'm looking forward to watching the lone Blu-ray movie I have and that would be Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Neumatic:
You know, I've been working 10+ hour days at Best Buy since Thanksgiving, in the games section... moved a lot of XBones, a TON of PS4s... but very few of those Gears Of War dealies.
