Okay, I decided to put down a check list of Riffs that I want to tackle. Some of the riffs I already know and are impossible to forget, some I have forgotten and some I've never learned. As for Zep, KISS and AC/DC, pretty much their entire catalog can be added, but I've stayed with these for the time being. I will be adding more to this particular post as I remember more and more. Be sure to check back often as this thread will fill up pretty damn fast. I'm also going to add Bass Riffs as well, but I won't get around to playing them for a bit though.

Since I'm trying think on top of my head what riffs to add, I'm forgetting a lot. So feel free to remind me of some riffs that belong on the list. Thanks.

Rocksmith Custom - KISS - Strutter

This is a custom created song from the first Rocksmith. Not bad if I do say so myself.

Ok so there's already a sticky on this topic, but seeing as it is now a little out of date with the improvements to the Song Creator Toolkit I thought I'd post one, and someone suggested I post a nice plain english guide with idiotproof steps.
This guide assumes you have Rocksmith installed on your PC (most people will have the Steam version so I will use that for folder references, if you do not have the Steam version, when I say C:\Program Files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Rocksmith\ you will need to browse to c:\program files\Ubisoft\Rocksmith[?]).

1. Download the latest version of the Song Creator Toolkit
2. Extract the contents (this can be placed anywhere, I use ..\Rocksmith\Content\SongCreator\ for convenience as I'm usually opening it after copying a new song into the content folder, but we'll get to that later)
3. Launch the Song Creator Toolkit (browse to the folder where you extracted the Song Creator Toolkit and double click RocksmithTookitGUI.exe)
4. Download your songs from the Packages section of the forum  (some songs will only provide the .dat file, this is the file we need, some will be packaged inside .rar files and you will need to extract the gooey .dat file goodness from inside)
5. Copy your .dat files into the content folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Rocksmith\Content\)
6. Go back to the Song Creator Toolkit and select the 'DLC Packer/Unpacker' tab
7. At this point you need to select a song in the 'Update - App ID' dropdown menu, and it NEEDS to be a song you legitimately own. If you were lucky enough to download the free christmas package you will be able to select one of them, if not you will need to purchase at least one song legitimately through Steam. The go-to song at the moment is Blink 182 - Damn It, you can purchase this to save some time, as many songs will already have the next step completed and will be playable immediately.
...so you have your legitimate song, you have your custom songs, and you are sick of reading this crap.....well that's convenient cause I'm sick of writing it....
8. Once you have a song selected in the 'Update - App ID' dropdown click 'Choose DLC' and browse to your \Rocksmith\Content\ folder. You can select multiple .dat files here, to select more than one hold CTRL and click on each custom .dat file* (there will be one or more labelled RS001SONG0000###, don't touch them, they are the legitimate DLC)
9. With all your custom songs selected click the Open button and wait for the 'APP ID update is complete.' message. If you are doing a large number of songs in one go it may take some time and there is no progress bar, so be patient.
Done, launch Rocksmith and play your new tunes. Repeat from step 5 to add more tracks and voila!
*If you get an application error after the Ubisoft logo you probably have a corrupted .dat file. You will need to remove all custom songs you have imported since the game last ran successfully from the content folder and re-import them one by one, testing the game each time until you isolate the culprit and then re-download that file. For this reason I strongly recommend importing a maximum of 3 or 4 songs at a time.

If you are getting audio lag try the rocksmith.ini file changes mentioned here. I get near perfect audio latency with just that tweak.

Gotta post the step by step in how to create custom made songs. It could come in handy one day when I want to do one for every damn KISS song they have!

As much as I would like to have Custom Rocksmith Songs to play on my Xbox, the idea of tampering with my console to make it JTAG friendly is just not worth the time or effort. Beyond potentially wrecking your console and rendering it useless, you will get a lifetime ban from Xbox Live. I enjoy my Online / Multiplayer experience. Can't risk losing that service.

So the lines are blurred of being a game and teaching you to play guitar.

Looks pretty amazing.

Now step into my world beyatch and do something with your other two appendages.

They have to market it as a "game" to get that demographic that was into Guitar Hero and Rock Band. But underneath the hood, this is straight up a teaching tool first and then a "karaoke" machine 2nd as a center piece for you and your friends when they come over. Yes, they have Career mode in Rocksmith which basically has you traveling all over the world, starting out in small venues to play in bars and whatnot. You have set list that you perform and every song, every venue, everything that you do unlocks more and more leading your way to playing Arenas and then eventually Stadium shows. That's the "game" aspect of it. The rest as they say....is gravy.

The note highway does take a bit of getting use to, but it's not as hard or as complicated as it looks. Most of the stuff they show in the video is usually Master Mode, so you see all these notes flying at you super fast and it came look daunting. The thing about that though is that you can manually set the difficulty level to your liking. The lower the difficulty, the few the notes you will see coming at you and vice versa.

For existing guitar players like myself, the best thing about this is that we are basically getting our own in-house band with access to tons of songs that otherwise would never get the chance to be played if you don't have a band on hand to jam with you.

Rocksmith 2014 Edition -- Learn to jam with Session Mode

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=BPFMDdMpttw

Songs from some of my favorite artist is obviously a draw toward wanting the game, but it's Session Mode that hooked me in from the start. I wish the video was a bit longer to tide me over till release day....two weeks away.

Very interesting indeed. I guess when you really think about it, music is very structured, in particular mathematical kind of way.

How else would the AI drummer or bass even begin to know what to play?

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea of how AI musicians work. It's fascinating nonetheless. I will of course jump immediately into my favorite songs that are on disc, but I see myself spending way more time in Session Mode working out riff and song ideas. I'm curious if there will be a record function with Session Mode to capture those 'lightning in a bottle' moments. Don't want to lose anything that really stands out as inspired.

Picked up my copy of Rocksmith 2014 this morning. I have been messing around with it for the past couple of hours and all I can say is that I am incredibly impressed with the upgrades to the overall design. The biggest plus this version has going for it is in how quickly the "game" loads. You can fly all over the place from songs to riff repeater to Guitarcade. Wherever you want to go, it's almost instantaneous with no delay at all. This is HUGE as it keeps you in the zone going from Point A to Point B.

One problem I am having is the with in-game tuner. Standard tuning is fine, but when it comes to alternative tuning's, it's not registering or "hearing" that my guitar is in tune. Not sure what the deal is. I left a note over at Rocksmith and hopefully they have some suggestions to remedy this.

So, the two songs I have been working on are The Kinks You Really Got Me and The Ramones Blitzkrieg Bop. What is funny is that I have never bothered to learn either of these songs on my own at any time. So, I was kind of surprises at how insanely fun both songs are to play. Fun yes, but it's brutal. My hands are aching. The chord progressions, as "simple" as they may be, are giving me a true work out. Not even close to being 100% on either songs. More like 30% and 20% respectively.

I messed around inside Session Mode. It is somewhat daunting. A lot of controls to mess around with. Still need to get the hang of how best to approach is. Well, back to the game now........

I remember getting guitar hero think it was guitar hero but I was surprised at what songs were fun to play and even though I knew them maybe wasn't a huge fan but if you're going to the levels and you start playing the songs that maybe would never try they actually end up being some of your favorites off of the album so its cool it will take you out of your comfort zone and  probably trying things that you wouldn't normally try like the two songs you mentioned sounds very cool have fun with it!  sorry on my phone doing voice recognition typing. So that upper portion just ended up being one huge run on sentence with a few typos. I don't have the energy to go **** it but I think you get my point. Sometimes with these games songs that you now but would never learn on guitar end up being some of your favorites to play and learn. I think that's a very cool thing.

That's what I love about both Rocksmith and Rocksmith 2014. It's that variety that keeps things fresh. I never want to go back to playing the way I use to and that was all about being the fastest player. Satch, Vai, Morse. It does get old. I forgot to mention about the game, when you first boot up the game, it will ask you if you want to play guitar or bass. I chose guitar. Duh. After that it will ask you if you want to play lead or rhythm. I chose rhythm for the reason I just mentioned above. So the game takes you down the road of songs that are more rhythm based as oppose to lead based. I love this game. Most likely will be playing on through the night. Have to give my hand a few breaks throughout to keep it from cramping because as you play the songs, you level up pretty fast when you are hitting the notes they throw at ya.
