I was pleasantly surprise that they actually had something really good going in the first 30 minutes of Rush Hour 3. I'm referring to the time spent in LA. There was a decent enough chase scene on foot through rush hour traffic, a hilarious if a bit too comical showdown with the "Karate Giant Dude" and the funniest thing in the entire movie when they get to the French Nun interpreter scene. Now THAT was damn funny!!! But then they move the plot to Paris and that's where it started going downhill somewhat.
There were some nice chuckles here and there, but the rest of the movie couldn't touch what we get earlier on. The finale was okay. It wasn't anything I hadn't seen before that had me going "holy crap"! But it entertained me somewhat. Also, Chris Tucker seemed to dial it back. He was still over acting, just not like Mach 5. It was more like Mach 2. This movie also wasn't a martial arts feast for Jackie Chan. But then again, he hasn't had one in a long time because age has gotten in the way. There are some fight scenes, but they are pretty weak when you compare them to even 10 years ago.
I definitely give this a Rent for sure. It's better than Rush Hour 2 (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/dvd's-blu-rays/rush-hour-2-(2001)/msg10587/#msg10587) but still worlds behind Rush Hour (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/dvd's-blu-rays/rush-hour-(1998)/msg9234/#msg9234).
