I wasn't planning on watching this, but I had an hour to burn with all the other shows caught up on and decided to give this one a shot. I actually liked it. Much better than I thought it would be. I'm still trying to keep track of all the characters in line and whatnot. This has the potential to be something pretty good, even the sleeper hit of the season. I will be sticking with it for the time being. Just gotta see how I'm gonna work this into an already overcrowded TV viewing schedule.

Honestly, the premise of this sounds... just over the top.

It's actually grounded. Without ruining anything, we have a successful Doctor who has a brother that gets mixed up with the wrong people (Mafia) and they were going to kill him. Doctor steps in to save him at any cost and will do anything to protect him, thus becoming the Mob Doctor. It's a juggling act now because she still has her legit job of working at a Hospital, saving lives and then has to do work for the 'Family'. It's actually pretty cool. Check it out.

Thanks but no. I tried getting back into medical drama with my wife with Grey's Anatomy... and sometimes it's just to tough to watch.

Also crime, court room, police drama are completely off my radar.

Wasn't sure how far the show would delve into the Mob life, but after this episode, they are clearly going down that Goodfellas street and that's a good thing for me. Not sure how far they can push the envelope, but I don't think it's going be too watered down. Not as violent, but certainly enough to get its point across. The Brother is just dumb. His sister saves his ass by becoming their On-Call Doctor and what does he do? He goes and ask for a job working for the. Sheesh!!

Great episode that really straddles the moral line and what you think to be the moral line. So, what do you do when a little girl you are in charge of taking care of dies do to a drunk hit and run accident and then you are asked to care for the man responsible for her death? That's whats at stake when Constantine asked Grace to do. What makes the situation worse is that the drunk is also the Captain of the Police. F*ck the poilce!

Great twist at the end, revealing that Moretti is alive and well and that he along with Franco are making a play to take him out. This is getting good and they are really ramping up the Mafia style story arcs.

This is getting really good. I think the show is named incorrectly. This has more to do with Mafia lifestyle and less to do with being an actual Doctor. Sure, it's got it's typical hospital scenes and medical stuff, but it's so smally compared to the bigger picture of the Mob. I liked the guest stars on this one too. You have Timothy Busfield as a shady Politician and you have Shohreh Aghdashloo (24) as a Heart Surgeon and Jurnee Smollett (Friday Night Lights) as a Call-Girl. Great episode.

I liked both stories that anchored this episode. The father that was never around, but returns to give his dying daughter his heart was good. I liked that Grace was being put in the position of having to make a decision about killing one patient to save another. I knew she wouldn't, but I also saw the ending coming a mile away. The other story involving the kids that their muscle spasm was very interesting. The only reason why this episode only gets 4 Stars is because they never gave us a follow up on their surgery to let us know how they turned out.

Game changer episode. Moretti and Franco try to take down Constantine and fail while also revealing their plan. They are now dead men walking. I really don't see how Grace is going to be able to explain her whereabouts to the Chief Of Staff back at the Hospital as well as her boyfriend. That surgery had me on pins and needles. It was fake but looked damn real. That 'tape worm' sac they pulled out of the chicks brain made me want to hurl.

Well, the first casualty of being a Doctor and trying to juggle the life of always being on call for the Mafia has claimed it's first victim: Her relationship. The writing was on the wall once Grace went AWOL from the Hospital for 3 days while recovering from the gunshot wound. There just wasn't any way to talk her way out of this. Either she came clean with her boyfriend and tell him everything or she walks away. Actually, he did the walking. I liked how Grace framed Moretti by swapping out the victims bullet with the bullet she pulled from her wound. But the biggest twist was finding out that Franco is actually a cop working undercover. Now that was a good twist I never saw coming.

This episode felt like they were channeling the spirit of The Godfather films. As soon as Grace finds out that the FBI has her on their watch list, this freaks her out to the point that she suddenly "wants out", so much so that she actually confronts Constantine and tries to get him to agree to let her leave. The funny thing is during her moment of "clarity" she calls on her brother for help in giving a dope dealer a "talking to" to stay away from a former friend of hers who is strung out on  h e r o i n . When she is asking for help, she looked very comfortable in the role of a "Mafia Don". It looked like she was actually enjoying this level of power. So, not really sure what to make of the final scene between her and Franco about "going back in" to take them all down. Is she doing this because she wants her old life back or is she doing this because she wants to run all of Chicago?

Anyway, I love that Jennifer Beals has been added to the cast as a major player and I see her becoming one of the Don's running their part of the city. It won't shock me at all that she will eventually take out Seamus so that she can officially become the Queen if you will. She looks amazing and hasn't aged at all. Stunning!

Michael Madsen makes a cameo as another Boss from Detroit, which doesn't sit well with Constantine. Episode was good, but it could have used a lot more of Madsen to build up his character. But, it wouldn't have mattered as I just found out that The Mob Doctor has been cancelled (http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/11/the-mob-doctor-canceled-at-fox-but-will-air-all-13-episodes-touch-premiere-moves-again.html)

Cool to see both Jennifer Beals and Michael Madsen returning in this one. Man, it just sucks that this show is done. They could have done so much with the series as they were setting up some great characters. A lot of potential is just being tossed out. Ugh.

Good episode that has Constatine tracking down and rooting out those responsible for trying to kill him with a pipe bomb. But the biggest bomb comes at the end of the episode when his 'long lost' son returns. Why? Who knows. That's why they call it a cliffhanger. Duh. The story involving the horse was kinda funny, but also kinda weak.

You have a patient that dies and then comes back to life, one he has a habit of doing such things. You have a hot Mob Wife that just happens to have been a dude at one time. You have a cartel on the hunt for Constatine's son. And you have the cliffhanger where Constatine and Grace's mother getting shot down by a drive-by. Sheesh. Pretty solid episode. Not sure how this is all going to wrap up with just 1 episode left for the series. FOX, I hate you!!!

My biggest concern going into the Series Finale is that there would be no resolution. I was sure it would fall in line with the worst Finale ever since Las Vegas. Well, was this finale on par with that atrocious ending? Not even close. Since The Mob Doctor got cancelled fairly early into its run, this gave the writers enough time to tie up some loose ends and give it a send off that was....acceptable. That doesn't mean that this Finale was perfect. Far from it. It was incredibly rushed and forced. Also, they did leave a pretty big hole in that we will never get to see the retaliation between the Cartel and Al Trapani.

As for the rest of the episode, I wonder if Constantine was always going to be revealed as Grace's real father. It seemed because of the time factor and the need to speed things up that they may have gone down this road simply for the fact that it would give Grace a legitimate reason for her to kill him once she finds out that he used her to set up a war with the Cartel and that she was involved whether she wanted to be or not.

I'm still p*ssed at FOX. They blew it. They had a fantastic show that had so many layers and potential stories they could tell. F*ck you FOX!
