I do not agree with the public at large that declares this the best entry in the series. For those that say that Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol is better than Mission: Impossible III (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/dvd's-blu-rays/mission-impossible-iii-(2006)/msg12545/#msg12545) are just way off the mark. Ghost Protocol started off great and I thought adding comedic relief in the form of Simon Pegg was a pretty good move. But then somewhere during the tail end of the 2nd Act, it lost its footing somewhat and then the comedic relief became too much to the point that I thought they unintentionally turned the movie into a comedy, which kinda lessen the intensity that they are going for at the end. Also, with no Ving Rhames on board as Luther, it was missing a key ingredient that at least gave us continuity beside Tom Cruise. Sure, Luther pops up at the very end, but that was too little too late for me.

The movie doesn't suck and it does get a lot of things right. But to say this is better than MI3, I just don't see how anyone can say that. What made MI3 so great was that Ethan (Tom Cruise)  had something personal he was fighting for....his fiance/wife. In Ghost, it was just another "Bond" film to stop a Nuclear War from starting. I liked it and its definitely worth a Rent, but nothing more.
