My latest greatest comedian I have hurt my side laughing from is Russell Peters. Most of his comedy is towards any and all ethnic people. Nothing is sacred. I think he has one of the most diverse audience in attendance.

Rod Hull and The Emu
I guess you could say Rod Hull (70’s and 80’s) had a one trick pony with the aggressive Emu, but dayum, it was always funny. I guess like a pie in the face. You knew the Emu was going to attack and it didn’t matter who it was. Even if it was Johnny Carson, The Queen, or Richard Pryor right after face surgery. I’m surprised he made millions off this act, but just goes to show how a simple idea evolves into something memorable.

Andrew Dice Clay (At Rodney Dangerfields - 1987)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWzI_Wn0ZwM
At one point in time, Dice was the biggest thing going in Standup Comedy and to an extent, Hollywood. Even then I knew he was a one trick pony, but I still enjoyed his Nursery Rhymes. He has really hit rock bottom over the years and become somewhat of a joke himself. The last I saw of him in was on The Apprentice and well....he didn't do himself any favors there. His most recent TV appearance was this past Saturday on That Metal Show. I will post a link to that once the episode is up online.
-
I have never liked Dice. He definitely seperated the fans. Either you liked him or ya didn't.
My buddy thought he was the greatest thing and even did the imitation thing whenever he could.

Kevin Hart
NSFW
I've been a fan of Kevin Hart in the movies (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0366389/) way before his stand-up. Something about him just cracks me up. I saw a hour long stand-up on one of the cable channels Seriously Funny, which was a little old.

Now he's got a newer one - Laugh At My Pain (http://www.kevinhartlaughatmypain.com/), that I need to see this.

Kevin's coming to St. Louis. No details yet, but I definitely want to go. He is really doing well lately. They'll probably charge and arm and leg. :-\

He's coming to our Scottrade Center which is freaking massive and his tickets start at $53 up to $160.

Dude, no comedian is worth 100 bucks a ticket and that goes for Eddie Murphy in his prime. 40-50 bucks is where I draw the line and if I can get cheap seats for 10 bucks you better believe I would go with that instead.
-
Well that's the other kicker here. This is the Scottrade center. A freaking indoor arena. These cheap seats, I would not be able to see his face. It would be a waste of time.
-
What do you normally pay for a comedy show? I don't think what they are charging is even on par of what you get at a rock concert. I love a good laugh, but not at those prices. The comedians and Ticketmaster are the ones getting the last laugh.....literally.
-
I no longer pay to see comedians. They are too available to see and hear. I don't get all caught up in the hype like I do with music. I paid pretty good money many moons ago to Bill Cosby for the kids. But it is all just comedy. Some people really place them on a pedestal like a rock star. Ain't gonna do it.
I don't know what the more popular acts bring in. Blue Collar guys or Lewis Black or Louie CK. I would think $40-$50. Even that is too much for comedy.

Bobcat Goldthwait: You Don't Look the Same Either (http://www.sho.com/site/movies/movie.do?seriesid=0&seasonid=0&episodeid=140698)
I've always have been a fan of Bobcat. I'm not sure where I first saw him. Maybe the bit parts in the Police Academy movies. I distinctly remember his stand-up specials on cable. Loved them.
Last night I got to watch his stand up again "You Don't Look the Same Either" and more than happy to report, I haven't laughed this hard and long in a very long time. Bobcat is crude and pushes the boundry's just enough to make you go Oh Gawd, but laugh your ass off.
The title is so appropriate because he looks nothing the same as 20-30 years ago. But his humor is primo. In his stand up, on occasion, he mentions other things he does and looking at Wiki, I am blown away at his other talents. He is a busy man with diverse interests. Mostly directing.
I highly recommend checking him out. Super funny.
-
Where did you see this? I've enjoyed his comedy over the years, but I haven't followed him much lately.
-
Actually from his opening, it has been a very long time since he's done any stand-up. Doing those other things.
His special is on Showtime currently. Check the link

Thanks.

Demetri Martin
Demetri's humor is eclectic. I really can't compare him to anybody else, except may Steven Wright.
He's laid back with a dry delivery. He does stand up, funny songs, skits and drawings in his act. He even had his own show for a bit.
I just picked up his book... This Is A Book
Just a mashup of stories, drawings and small bits. I laughed out loud at a few things.

Honestly, all I knew of Alan Thicke was his stints on network TV… that I never watched. Now, after being a guest on Bill Maher, he is the father of artist Robin Thicke, yet more importantly opened my eyes to how funny he is. Instantly took a liking to him. I’ll be reading his blog in Huffington Post as well.
I could see myself sitting with him over drinks and just having a hell of a good time.

Gary Owen
Watched Gary Owen last night and loved it. I guess my experience of dating black women had a lot to do with relating to the things he discusses. He is in a interracial marriage and primarily that relationship pretty much makes up his standup.Funny as hell and as usual a kernel of truth. He even goes further and confidently crosses lines I don't think many other white comedians can do.
Keep an eye for this guy.

JEFF DUNHAM RETURNS TO COMEDY CENTRAL® IN THE WORLD PREMIERE
STAND-UP SPECIAL “JEFF DUNHAM: MINDING THE MONSTERS”
ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 7 AT 9:00 P.M. ET/PT
(http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51WmyS8AzIL._SL500_SS500_.jpg)
NEW YORK, September 19, 2012 – Worldwide comedy sensation Jeff Dunham will debut his fifth comedy special just in time for Halloween! “Jeff Dunham: Minding the Monsters” premieres on Sunday, October 7 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on COMEDY CENTRAL.
Filmed at Savannah, Georgia's Lucas Theater, Dunham is joined by the whole gang. Fans are in for a treat when Walter, Peanut, Bubba J, José Jalapeño (on a STEEK!), and Achmed the Dead Terrorist command the stage like never before. Enter the ultimate haunted house where Walter transforms into something grumpier than he already is, beer-swilling redneck Bubba J rises from the dead, Peanut becomes his alter ego, The Purple Avenger of the Night, and Achmed dresses to kill in an outfit that would terrify even the most terrifying terrorist. In “Minding the Monsters,” Dunham's phenomenally successful comedy is taken to a whole new level that's so funny it's scary!
The “Jeff Dunham: Minding the Monsters” DVD and Blu-ray will be released by COMEDY CENTRAL Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment on October 9. The DVD and Blu-ray will be packed with special features and extras including: a hilarious collection of “Monstrous Mistakes,” outtakes from the special's taping; a behind the scenes look in which Dunham shows Walter's transformation into the grumpiest monster ever; a backstage “Tour of Terror” that reveals the inner workings of the set; a “Minding the Miniatures” look at how the special's miniature mansion and graveyard were made; a behind the scenes “Monster Movie Magic” glimpse into the filming of the trailers; and a “Frightening Photos” visit to the “Minding the Monsters” photo shoot. Audio commentary and bleeped and uncensored options are also included to provide family- friendly viewing for Dunham's fans of all ages.
Dunham's four previous specials, “Arguing with Myself,” “Spark of Insanity,” “A Very Special Christmas Special,” and “Controlled Chaos,” have all been huge ratings successes on their COMEDY CENTRAL debuts. “Controlled Chaos” was the cable channel's highest-rated stand-up special of 2011, and “A Very Special Christmas Special” has become a holiday tradition, as “Minding the Monsters” is sure to also be in the future. International sales of the previous DVDs/Blu-rays are rapidly approaching eight million copies, and clips from the specials have generated more than half-a- billion worldwide views on YouTube and other online sites.
Rated by concert industry trade publication Pollstar as the highest-earning stand-up concert comedian in the world for two consecutive years and in North America for three years running, Dunham sold over half-a-million tickets in 2011 and is so in-demand by promoters and his loyal fans that more than 50 shows are already planned for next year. This past summer he took his Controlled Chaos tour to Australia for his second tour of the nation and made his live New Zealand debut. Further information on Jeff Dunham is available at www.jeffdunham.com (http://www.jeffdunham.com/).

Pryor is one of the first comedians that I just held onto every word and couldn't wait for more. A unique comedian in his own right. His stuff is timeless. IMO, watching him is far more entertaining than just listening to his bits, but his bits are priceless, which says so much more for watching his face. Incredibly funny.

Sarah Silverman: We Are Miracles
On HBO currently, is a very small intimate stand-up routine. 39 people in the very small room/stage. Just like the old night clubs.
Sarah Silverman is very cute and counter that with some very twisted ideas, you get a unique blend of humor delivered. It’s a laid back hour, with some gut punching lines. She definitely stands out. Sarah Silverman is not for everybody. She fits in with Louis C. K. laughs. Definitely treading the line of taste. I never got offended, and laughed out loud on occasion. It was a fun hour.
-
I love Sarah!!! I think she's great.

Just watched this: Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Ricky Gervais, and Louis CK talk about comedy for 50 minutes.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKY6BGcx37k
-
Let me preface, some of the comedians I talk about might not be my ‘favorite’ comedian, but more likely, they bring the funny… consistently.
I see a lot of comedians and like movies, most do nothing for me or worse… suck. But on occasion, I get to see and hear some stellar comedians.
This weekend, I caught two new (new to me) comedians, who I just thoroughly enjoyed.
First up is...
Dwayne Kennedy. I caught most, but not all of his standup on Showtime. He has a laid back style with some great solid punch lines. I want to catch his whole act, but don’t see it scheduled. Highly recommend.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJlFnF7IECU
Steve Byrne (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDE6726BD5BBAAB0E) is another wonderful surprise hit with me. I caught his hour long special on Netflix and laughed hard throughout his routine. I think comedians are funny because of the ounce of truth in their jokes. Steve Byrne brings it home and so close to real. He just knows how to present it to audiences in a very funny way. Apparently I’m late to the game on recognizing this guy as top notch comedian. The guy has been around. Currently in Sullivan and Son (TBS), I did not even know about. Highly, highly recommend.

Elon Gold - Chosen & Taken
I’ve never heard of Elon until I saw his special on Netflix. I picked it because it had 4 stars.
They were right… Elon is very funny. I laughed out loud a lot. His routine is full of visuals and make up a good part of the humor. He’s kind of Russell Peters and goes after ethnic groups. But as Elon points out, his Jewish heritage have the most stereotypes and he pretty much nails them too.
Highly, highly recommend.

Trevor Noah; African American
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6r1-98WtM8Y
Noah is new young comedian from Africa. The guy has got some skills. He knows how to deliver and he talks what he knows. Black, Whites and ethnicity in general is a bulk of his latest hour stand up. His observations on different groups is actually fresh. Throughout he brings up subjects that end in… “That’s Insane”. And it is what he is talking about. Pointing out what we take for granted, put in laser focus and it does sound insane.
Check him out. Very funny man.
-
Bill Bellemy
So a little backstory. On occasion I check the various channels OnDemand comedy products. In particular, standup routines. I saw Bill Bellamy’s name several times and I thought I knew who he was. An old comedian from the 80’s. So I would pass him up. I could never be more wrong. Bill Bellamy is recent Black comedian making strong strides to becoming in demand.
Last night I made a HUGE mistake of drinking some pretty strong tea to help level this lingering cold. Wrong… I consumed so much caffeine; I was awake until 4 AM. I did get to catch Bellemy’s latest on Showtime. I laughed through the entire show. I had tears in my eyes. I have found my newest favorite comedian. I watched most of his Crazy Dirty Sexy tour and followed it up with a collection of stand up’s where Bellemy was the closing act. He is truly gifted at telling some of the funniest stories. And he’s a comedian to be watched. Not just listened to. His mannerisms and facial gestures amplify what he is saying.
Keep an eye out for Bill Bellemy. He will entertain you.

I haven't seen or heard from Bill Bellamy since his time on MTV.

Jim Jefferies has a new stand-up special on Netflix I'm definitely going to check out. And if I haven't shared it already, here's his brilliant bit about granting a friend dying of muscular dystrophy his final wish... to visit a pr ost itute. It's one of the funniest things I've ever heard. I stopped breathing because I was laughing so hard. Obviously NSFW.

Very Well Done. It's unfortunate, those drunks won't remember any of it.
The beauty of YouTube, which their friends more than likely continue to rub their faces in every time they open their mouths in public.
-
But who's gonna know? How do they know.
Unless those drunks tell their friends that they saw that comedian and it's on youtube, no one to know the wiser.
Just the collateral damage of a comedian.

Bob Nelson... One of my old time favorites.

I'm going to add Don Friesen to my list. I honestly have never heard of him til last night. In his 1 hour standup, he constantly made me laugh out loud.

Jamie Costa

He's not a "Favorite Comedian" of mine, but I didn't nowhere else to post this. He is blowing up in the news today and this is the first I'm hearing about him, thus why I wouldn't say he is a 'Fave'. Anyway, his Robin Williams impressions is mind-blowing. The fact that he looks like him with the same facial expressions is amazing.
-
Guess who's going to be cast as Williams in his soon to be docu-drama movie of the week?

Triumph the Insult Comic Dog
Makes me laugh, all the time.

Gawd this is sooooo funny. These students represent how badly they've become politically correct. Not one freakin smile for the comedy. Serves 'em write to to get their asses handed to them. Take their trigger events and shove it.

I'm going to add Bert Kreischer to my list of favorite comedians. Where'd he come from?
New on showtime, is his latest standup The Machine.

I was laughing out loud quite a bit. One point, my sides were hurting. Highly recommend Bert

Bill Burr
Holy crap, I'm laughing so hard all the time. Damn, I've known about Burr forever, but never watched his stuff. Netflix has several specials, and I'm just loving the next one more. Burr, reminds me of Lewis Black, but up the anger to pit bull level. He's killing me. A new favorite.
