Ya'll know that I love the High School Genre, but what sets Say Anything....apart from the majority of other High School flicks (exception being The Breakfast Club) is how 'real' this one feels. By that I mean most HS movies are basically caricatures of school life and the characters that populate them. They usually don't resemble anything close to real life and certainly don't tackle issues that have merit. Say Anything is different while also going a bit left with the Rom-Com standards. I love how they portray Lloyd Dobler (John Cusack) and Diane Court (Ione Skye) budding romance as incredibly awkward which it is. Cameron Crowe nailed everything and you can see it in the small details like when Lloyd and Diane move in for their first kiss/hug and collide. I love that moment.

Great cast that includes Joan Cusack, John Mahoney, Jeremy Piven and Eric Stoltz. If you're a fan of Californication and Parenthood, you will trip over your feet seeing a baby face Pamela Adlon. Not to be outdone is the awesome Lily Taylor. He "songs" kick ass! Haha. I highly recommend this as a Buy.

That one's on the list of flicks I've never seen.  Dunno why that is.  I know it's a classic.

I'm just gonna keep antagonizing you for the rest of the evening.  Again, just something that I missed.  I don't even know the song that's on the boombox.  I guess I better get to watching these before it's too late, I remember not digging Risky Business that much (and I've got Top Gun in my queue, never seen that either).
