Hawaii Five-O was one of the better shows last season leaving us with a pretty big cliffhanger with McGarrett being framed for the Governor's murder. Very happy the show is back and it picks up right where it left off from last season. I was not expecting to see Victor Hesse (James Marsters)  return, who in turn is the catalyst for McGarrett's escape from prison.

Pretty big f*cking twist at the end. One that I NEVER saw coming in which...

Spoiler (hover to show)

Terry O'Quinn joins the team as Lt. Commander Joe White. Not sure if this is permanant as I haven't found anything as far as long term story arc. For those not aware, this is a mini-Lost reunion with Daniel Dae Kim. Masi Oka who appeared in a few episodes last season is bumped up to a full time cast member this season.

The babe factor on the show just went up with the addition of Lauren German, who will play Lori Westin, a new member of Five-0. Also, Tom Sizemore has joined ranks as a IA looking to take down Kona (Grace Park). Is Grace even on the show anymore? She has been non-existent for the first two episodes this season. I get that her character is suspended while IA does it's investigation. But come on, give me more Grace Park!! Hell, just have her surfing the entire time. I don't mind her in a bikini.  ;D

It dawned on me that Kono's (Grace Park) problems with IA and her being kicked off the force is nothing more than an elaborate sting operation to take down Frank Delano (William Baldwin), a Dirty Cop. It wasn't till I saw Kono pushing Chin Ho (Daniel Dae Kim) away and refusing his help did it click with me.

Daniel Dae Kim and Terry O'Quinn trekking through the rain forest together. Where have I seen that before?  ;D The ending where McGarrett does his best impersenation of James Bond rescuing the falling parachute Navy Seal was pretty cool.

Sarah Roemer (The Event) guest-starred and looks completely different than the last time I saw her in The Event. Extremely skinny. She needs to start eating again.

This show is turning out to be a haven for big name actors to guest star on. Here it was Peter Fonda, which was a surprise. Small role, but good none the less. Also, looks like they are giving Danno a love interest with Autumn Reeser (Dr. Garbrielle Asano). I don't object to this one bit as she was a fave of mine on No Ordinary Family. Also, I do believe that Chin is onto Kono working undercover. Just a hunch.

Yup. Kono was in fact undercover. The entire episode was excellent. A lot of stars in this one with Tom Sizemore, William Baldwin and the return of Reiko Aylesworth as Chin's love interest. She looks different with short curly hair. But she is is hot to me!! (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Smilies/0%20All%20Smilies/HTL_drool.gif)

The fight between Joe White (Terry O'Quinn) and Wo Fat (Mark Dacascos) was brutally good, even in spite of the obvious Stunt Double with his bald skin cap practically bulging with hair underneath it. The fight was so good and so brutal, I really thought for a second that they were going to kill off Terry's character. Also in the episode was Chuck Lidell, Shawn Hatosy (Southland) and Annie Wersching (24) who I am so in love with. So hot!! We need more Annie on every show possible!!! Not one of the better episodes. I knew that as soon as I saw that Robert Englung was guest staring on the Halloween episode, it was going to be over the top ham acting on his part. Stereotype much? He needs to branch out and do a lead in a romantic comedy. (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Smilies/0%20All%20Smilies/HTL_wink.gif)

Looks like they may have hit a creative slump. For a series that has been hitting it's mark pretty much the entire run, the last couple of episodes were just average. This one had Greg Grunberg (Alias, Heroes, LOST) guest staring as an Agent sent to help track down his partner's killer with the help of Five-O. The best in-joke for this one obviously played on Masi Oka and Greg's past endeavor on Heroes.

Jenna's story comes full circle as she leads McGarrett into Korea to help her bring back her fiancé who is being held captive by Wo Fat. Only thing is, he is already dead and Wo Fat doesn't keep promises. I was kinda suprised that they had Wo Fat execute Jenna. I was expecting her to somehow escape and lead the rest of Five-0 back to help out. No Dice.

So, that leaves the team to scramble on their own and mount their own Search and Rescue to bring back McGarrett, with a little help from Jimmy Buffet, playing a former Vet Pilot and teammate of Joe White (Terry O’Quinn). He was actually pretty good in his cameo here and I wouldn't object to future appearances on the show.

The final scene with everyone flying home in the Helo was really good, especially when Chin announces he is getting married, having popped the question to Malia (Reiko Aylesworth) at the start of the episode. David Keith also returns to reprise his role as Wade as part of the Rescue mission. Overall a fantastic episode and the most un-Hawaii-Five-0 episode to date.

An okay episode that uses some very familiar plot points that I've seen countless times. When McGarrett drops off 2 duffle bags of coke at the drop site and places it into the abandoned Van, I knew immediately what was coming next.

BOOM!!

I saw the exact same scene most recently in Kidnapped. Although the episode as a whole was kind of a let down due to its predictability, it at least gave us a new characters portrayed by the awesome Rick Gomez (Band Of Brothers, Boomtown). It looks like this has the makings of a recurring story-line for him as Mateo Vargas. But the most interesting thing to come to light was Joe White looking to move "somebody" who may or may not be the elusive Shelburne that Wo Fat is hunting down.

Terry O'Quinn & Alex O'Loughlin

The main case involving a scam being used on Parents that have been searching for their missing son for the past 2 years wasn't one of their better ones and my guess is that the writers are just kind of padding the episode to stretch out the Wo Fat / Shelburne story arc driving this season for as long as possible. Other than a brief scene in the middle of the episode and then later at the end, not much is said and done about it. Although at the end, it looks like the line has been drawn in the sand between McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) and Joe (Terry O'Quinn) in his refusal to tell McGarrett who Shelburne is.

Malia (Reiko Aylesworth) and Chin (Daniel Dae Kim) get married. Fast. The entire scene was no more than a few minutes. No buildup or nothing. Reiko Aylesworth looked gooooooooooooooood. Yum. (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Smilies/0%20All%20Smilies/HTL_love.gif)

The arc involving Joe is getting a bit more complicated and interesting now that he has come clean to McGarrett that he helped carry out a fake death for a member of the Yakuza Family, the same man that he kidnapped a few episodes back with regards to Shelburne. Also of note in this episode was another mini LOST reunion wth Sam Anderson making a cameo, who is better known as Bernard from LOST.

Awesome episode and very funny too. Will Yun Lee as Sang Min was hella funny, doing his version of Al Pacino from Scarface. So funny and so good. Nice to see them giving Kamekona (Taylor Wily) something good to do. Also very funny. Some great action sequences to top this one off.

I just realize that Masi Oka hasn't been on for awhile and come to think of it, it's been missing for what seems like the entire season so far. Where the hell is he? And speaking of MIA, it looks like Joe (Terry O'Quinn) will be off the show for awhile. Bah!!! What the hell!!!!

The episode was good, but it felt light without Joe (Terry O'Quinn) MIA now that he is off doing God knows what. And no Kamekona (Taylor Wily) to be found either. He brings a lot of humor to his role. And speaking of MIA, Max Bergman (Masi Oka) is still missing from the show. So yeah, feels weird with everyone gone. Msybe that's why the focused the majority of the episode on Danny (Scott Cann) who is being targeted by his Ex Partner played by Peter Greene, that he sent away to prison. Kidnapping Grace isn't the way to get back at him, because your only gonna get shot in the knee.

So, Peter Greene really hasn't broken free from type castng huh? He played Rent-A-Cop Zed in Pulp Fiction and he plays the same here.

Well, that f ucking sucks. It looks like Lauren German who plays Lori is gone from the show with her handing in her resignation in this episode. She added a lot to the series and was a great addition. Max Bergman (Masi Oka) finally returns, but that's not much of a consolation prize with Lauren leaving. Damn it! (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Smilies/0%20All%20Smilies/HTL_mad.gif) There's too much cast rotation lately that it's becoming a big concern for me that something is happening behind the scenes with the show.

I fear this series may have run its course, especially now that they have gotten rid of two vital characters/actors that made it tick and work. This episode was...meh. Hey, at least they didn't have Apolo Ohno escape the feds on Rollerblade's. That's gotta count for something, right?

Really good episode with Dennis Miller making a cameo and James Cann guest-starring. Cann in particular was really good and funny. Watching the interrogation scene reminded me a lot of Las Vegas. The ending seemed to suggest or at least leave it open to him coming back for another round which would be a good thing.

How  f u c k i n g  cool was this episode? It had a handful of big name stars in it, most notably was that of Ed Asner, who reprised his role from 35 years ago on the original Hawaii Five-0. He's back as world-class smuggler August March. That's gotta be some kind of record for a TV show to have the same actor portray the same character 35 years apart. Whatever it is, this episode was ALL Ed Asner!!  He OWNED it and was just as memorable as his guest stint on CSI: NY a couple of years back. I loved how the incorporated Ed's scenes from the original episode into this one.

Also in this episode was Tom Sizemore, Tony Todd ,Taryn Manning and Jason Scott Lee. The left it open for Ed's character to return given what happens in the last scene. I'm all for the return of August March. Bring it!!

The episode was...meh. Two things it had going against it's success for me. 1) No Alex O'Loughlin to be found here. I know that he had enterted rehab for addiction to Pain Meds and would be off the show for an episode. Without him anchoring the series, it just seems way off. 2) Masi Oka incredibly stilted performance. Why....must.....he act.....like.....this? His acting this season is very robotic. It's annoying. Why can't he just read his lines without all these pauses? Bah!! Good news is that Alex returns for the Season Finale along with Terry O'Quinn.

The episode was just okay for me. I wasn't expecting this to be a crossover either. So when LL Cool J and Chris O'Donnell popped up it was a complete surprise to me. I've seen more LL at the San Diego Comic Con the last couple of years combined than I have an episode of NCIS: LA. Never seen one episode, so I know zero backstory of the characters and the current story line running through their show. This is a two parter, which concludes on NCIS: LA. I may or may not watch it. As for Hawaii Five-0, I think it's taken a huge hit with Alex O'Loughlin out on Rehab. The last couple of episodes have been underwhelming to say the least.

Great episode. It would have been perfect if not for one thing. The romance angle between Kona (Grace Park) and Adam Noshimuri (Ian Anthony Dale) was pretty dumb. Kona comes off as pretty weak and love sick and against type for her character and I just don't buy their relationship at all. End it. Please. But the rest of the episode was kick ass. Lots of gunfire and explosions. This was vintage Hawaii Five-O with Alex O'Loughlin back as McGarrett. Add to Wo Fat into the mix and you have a winning episode. Although the mystery of Shelburne has yet to be revealead, the ending with with Wo Fat's incarceration and the smirk on his face tells me this isn't over yet. Season Finale next.......

That's what you call a cliffhanger to hook people into tuning in for Season 3. You have Kono bound, gagged and sinking to the bottom of the ocean, you have Malia bleeding out, waiting for an ambulance to arrive and you have McGarrett coming face to face with Shelburne....his mother. I kinda suspected it would be one of two options. His father or his mother. So, looks like they are going to drag this Shelburne arc out just a little bit longer. I was hoping for a resolution in the finale to close it out. Also, you can say goodbye to Tom Sizemore as his character is gunned down to open the episode.
