Even before watching The Break-Up, I had to roll my eyes at the blurb that is mentioned on the back of the DVD, trying to sell people on the movie by claiming this is the "Best performance of Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn's career". Come on. The title of the movie alone tells you that it's going to be a movie that you've seen a million times before. I love Jen and Vince is always awesome. But to say this is their 'Best' is far from the truth. Sounds like I'm bashing the movie. I'm not. Just trying to dial it down a bit so that no one goes in thinking this is going to be something else all together.

The plot is the same: Girl breaks up with Guy to teach him a lesson so that he changes his ways and doesn't take her for granted anymore. You already know how it's going to end from that one sentence. It comes down to the actors that populate the movie if it's going to at least be memorable. It's not. It's decent and does a fine job. Everyone is good and Jen did have a pretty good tearful scene. But for me, the best part is any time Vince and Jon Favreau share screen time. Everyone knows that Swingers (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/dvd's-blu-rays/swingers-(1996)/msg12185/#msg12185) is one of my all time favorite flicks and their scenes here are very reminiscent of their dialog they have with each other, especially the scene in the bar when Jon is hinting at having the 'guy whacked'. You can't help but chuckle watching this play out. Definitely worth a Rent on a rainy day. Nothing more. 3 Stars out of 5.

I hated this movie.  I just hated it, I found nothing to enjoy in it whatsoever.  No interest in revisiting it at all.

Rolled my eyes and just hung my head to shake it. Why, why, why does Jennifer keep doing this crap.

So forgetful. Anniston is now one of MY bullet points on movies to avoid.
