It took me longer than I would have liked to figure out what the heck everyone was talking about with "Creed."

Not enough to get me excited yet, though.

IGN News - Stallone Back for Rocky Spinoff "Creed"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Y5o4Jp7e4o

I'm a huge fan of the series and was very happy in how Stallone wrapped it up with Rocky Balboa. I'm actually okay with them doing a spin-off that doesn't center around 'Rocky Balboa' and I like the idea of them tapping into Apollo Creed's family tree and keeping his character 'alive'. But the selling point for me in getting behind this is the fact that Michael B. Jordan looks to be attached to this. I've been a big fan of his since Friday Night Lights and later on Parenthood. Very much looking forward to this.

Creed - Official Trailer #2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fR94Ms-4sCQ

The first trailer released a month ago was good, but THIS trailer is f*cking awesome. Spoiler alert, this one gives away a lot. So if you want to stay in the dark, which I wish I could still do, don't watch the trailer.

Is this written by Stallone? I quite like his writing style.

It's actually written and directed by Ryan Coogler. He and Michael B. Jordan previously worked together on  Fruitvale Station. This is going to be really interesting to see given how Stallone has either written, directed or both for each installment in the series. The movie isn't even out yet and it already feels like a genuine passing of the torch.
