I really wasn't sure what to expect with This Is 40 given the somewhat bad word of mouth the movie received when it came out in the theater. All I can say having just watched this tonight.....this is one funny ass movie. I figured that they would front load the movie with all the best jokes and then it would wither on a vine and just.....fade away. Not the case here. The movie just kept getting funnier and funnier as it went on. Now when I say this sh*t is funny, I'm talking about gut-busting-making-you-cry laughter. I haven't laughed this hard in a long while and it was good too. Think of this movie as a raunchy version of Parenthood.

Fantastic cast. Everyone was great and some were actually surprisingly good (Megan Fox anyone?). But the movie begins and ends with Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann, who both have great chemistry together work really well. I would love to see them do more movies together. Great cast also includes John Lithgow, Albert Brooks and the insanely funny Melissa McCarthy in her cameo. Stick around through the credits at the end for the blooper reel that takes place in the principal's office. This will have you rolling in the aisle.

Don't listen to the naysayers that say bad things about This Is 40. I totally recommend this as a Rent and for me personally, I will gladly add this to my own Personal DVD Library. Judd Apatow for the win. I thought his two daughters (Maude Apatow and Iris Apatow) were great in this as well. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Funny, funny movie.

The blooper reel is pure comedic gold.

I'm not sure it was on the extras but Judd Apatow talks about the scenes with his daughters when Leslie Mann is trying to give Paul Rudd a BJ, all he could tell his daughters to do was just over and keep knocking on the door.

They asked why... he said, it's just all part of the story.

Done.

Paul Rudd anxious about This is 40 David Schwimmer jibe (http://www.contactmusic.com/news/paul-rudd-anxious-about-this-is-40-david-schwimmer-jibe_3503115)

The running gag involving LOST and JJ Abrams was particularly funny as well. But one of the biggest laughs I got was the inside joke involving David Schwimmer / Ross Gellar / Friends. I haven't been able to dig up any information about what David thinks of the joke anywhere online.

My mind is immediately concocting a Friends episode where Ross spends the whole time trying to come up with a way to get back at Mike for that.
