I have not watched The Limey since I bought the DVD as a blind buy and that was 8-9 years ago at least. Really wasn't a fan of the movie back then. My views of the film is still pretty much the same. Its Steven Soderbergh insistence on doing the 'random-fractured-narrative' still makes this very annoying to watch. There is a time and a place to do fractured narrative and this movie is not one of those times. Well, let me backtrack a bit here. The crime genre does lend itself to this type of plot device, but it has to be clear and concise. Usually we get a good chunk of plot revelation whenever the story jumps forward (or backwards). But in The Limey, Steven is clearly doing it for the sake of doing it. It's like watching an amateur film maker hellbent on trying to reinvent the wheel. His edits are really haphazard and doesn't lend itself well to propelling the story forward. Very jarring to say the least.

With that said, the story itself is a typical 'Father seeks revenge against the man he blames for killing his daughter' plot. The characters themselves are particularly interesting and fun to watch, especially Terrance Stamp and Luis Guzman. Lesley Ann Warren and Peter Fonda really don't add much in the way of characters other than to tie loose ends of the daughter story into the overall scheme of things. I would say the movie is worth a Rent if you are a fan of the actors or the director. I do feel that this is another movie that is insanely overrated. I will say that I did like the use of a older film footage from another Terrance Stamp movie to show where the "character came from". Even though the film quality doesn't match up, it still works.
