Three Kings really seems outdated today. I haven't watched this in 10 years and a lot has happened since the movie first came out. The fact that Saddam Hussein is 'still alive' when this movie came out and the time frame the film takes place felt strange to say the least. I liked the movie when it came out more for the heist story where everything goes wrong, but tonight I found it kind of average. Might have to do with how old the movie is now and knowing how everything ends, be it in the movie as well as in real life.

The plot is kind of ironic in that American Soldiers (George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg, Spike Jonze and Ice Cube) are initially sent over to Iraq to liberate them. It's only after their botched heist do they actually do what they should have done all along. The story does have something to say, but I've never been a fan of the characters. They are kind of dull and boring. There's nothing interesting about them. Still worth a Rent for someone that hasn't gotten around to checking it out yet.
