'Alice' from 'The Brady Bunch' has died

Every time I saw Ann giving an interview on TV, I was always surprised to see that she was still around. I think the reason for my shock is because I grew up on The Brady Bunch as a kid during it's syndication run. Since the show came and went before I even knew what a TV was, it just made everyone on the show seem really old. RIP Ann.

I guess that makes Sam The Butcher a widow now... or it would if he had ever proposed.

You know, I haven't watched the show in forever (I really don't know the last time i saw part of an episode, though I'm sure I've never actually seen an episode all the way through), but I never caught on that Alice was the intermediary between all the different dividing lines on the show: the kids and the adults, and the boys and the girls.  That's why she was the center square.  Huh.

Hell, I thought she was 88 in the show and that was what, 40 years ago.

What? C'mon, you thought it too.
