Person of Interest (Season 1)
CBS - Sept 22 (http://www.cbs.com/shows/person_of_interest)
If you miss the mysteries of “Lost,” this show could fill the hole left behind by the vanishing island. J.J. Abrams executive-produces this crime drama about billionaire software wizard Finch (played by “Lost’s” Michel Emerson) who uses a Big Brother-type program he creates to identify people who are about to become involved in violent crimes. Jim Caviezel plays ex-CIA agent Reese, who is presumed dead, and whom Finch recruits to help him exact vigilante justice. Emerson is right at home in the role, bringing twinges of “Lost’s” mysterious Ben Linus to Finch. "Person of Interest" premieres Sept. 22 at 9 p.m. on CBS.

Wow, I was completely misreading this one. With a promising opening last night, it quickly turned average. I was to believe Person Of Interest was somewhat of an X-files/Lost/Mysterious kind of show. After the quick introduction of two main characters, it quickly became a standard investigative detective show... except boring. Watching them stake out the victim/assailant was about as uninteresting as you could get. I was watching the clock within 15 minutes.
I do not like police or law shows and this just bored me to death. Won't waste time with this one.

I actually thought it was a pretty decent opening to the series. If anything, I was thinking that it was going to be a by-the-book-Cop that stays within the law to achieve his goal. Not close. I really like that John Reese (Jim Caviezel) will do anything needed to get there, and if that means going all "Rambo", then all the better. But it's a funny thing that he prefers to just cap people in the knee and move on.
As for Mr. Finch (Michael Emerson), he is a mystery, which he even says so at the beginning of the episode. There is a lot of digging forthcoming, and it's gonna be interesting to see what is uncovered. He's not what he (or we) think he is. Same goes for Reese. This is a JJ Abrams production. His middle name is Mythology. So, Mac, even though it may seem like a Detective Show, there will be much more to this series than what you think. I for one am gonna stick with this one for awhile.
Inside joke in that they had Emerson saying "Lost" a few times throughout the Pilot episode. I'm just waiting for the number 47 to start popping up. ;D

Another solid episode where we see a little bit of the origin of the machine. And John Reese (Jim Caviezel) is turning out to be a super cool character. Reckless abandon with the Rig. BAM!! I like reunion type endings: Parents and Kid. Second one this week. First it was Hawaii Five-0, now this one.

First 5 Star episode of Season 1 and rightly so. Mission Creep sets something up bigger for future episodes to come. I'm not sure I would say its a mythology episode as it has nothing to do with The Machine. But I will be keeping an eye out for Elias, whoever that might be. We also learn a little bit more about Reese's past and the girl he left behind. The ending was cool too as the Ex-Solider got the girl and they are off to start their lives together.
Mac, you're doing yourself a disservice by not watching this. Give it a chance. It's nothing like you think it is.

That was a very unusual ending. Literally a cliffhanger that I'm sure we will never get to see it's completion of. A moral question of does Reese kill the rapist or let him go. My guess, since Reese is already a mystery, leaving this up in the air will only add to his mystique and I'm kind of okay with it because now THAT confrontation will be in the back of my mind whenever he is on screen. Then again, they may address this situation first thing next week.
As for the rest of Cura, it was pretty damn good with Linda Cardellini (Freaks And Geeeks) guest-staring as a Doctor out to avenge her sister, who took her own life after the aforementioned rapist attacked her. The entire episode was tense and the diner scene with Reese and Megan (Linda Cardellini) was an acting class. Both were so good here. Don't be surprised that Jim Caviezel gets an Emmy nomination for his role in Person Of Interest this season. He has been so good already in this early into the series.

Reese planting the Fire Alarm/Camera on the courthouse was ingenious. Makes me wonder just how many of these clever surveillance's exist in the world. It's also very unnerving when thinking about it and will only further make me paranoid about Big Brother watching everyone all the time.
Great episode centering around what seems to the theme of the week: Kidnapping/Exortion. Really cool to see Michael Cerveris, better known as The Observer from Fringe, showing off a different side of him It was kind of startling to see him portraying someone that wasn't stoic and monosylabic. Here he is the leader of a crew that deals in extortion and money laundering as Jarek Koska.
Back to Reese, I found his method of interrogation to be somewhat funny, in which it basically involves putting the perp in the trunk of his car and driving around in circles. Why is this funny? Because the perp in question is a highly trained mercenary, trained to withstand the most brutal forms of torture. Mr. Bad Merc has a weak stomach I guess.
It's subtle, but the ending showed that Finch is starting to lower his wall down and let Reese in a little bit at time. This was highlited by the simple fact of telling Reese to try the Eggs Benedict at the diner he eats at all the time.

This is by far my favorite new show of the season, with The Ringer just behind it. As for this episode it was another win. I really enjoy the scenes Michael Emerson and Jim Caviezel.
This time Reese has to rescue another Fixer: Zoe Morgan, who is in way over her head, who is played by Paige Turco. I've been a fan of hers for such a long time so I am always happy when she pops up in guest spots here and there. The ending kind of sets up something down the road, so this looks like it has the potential for a recurring role here.
Also, more information comes out regarding Elias, which is leading to something big.

Wow, another winner. This episode was awesome and had me on the edge of my seat till the very end. Foe is about a former Stasi spy, Ulrich Kohl played to brilliant perfection by Alan Dale (LOST, Ugly Betty, 24), who is hunting down his former teammates who betrayed him and was the cause of his Wife's death. But everything on this show is not what it appears to be...
Really cool to see Austin Pendleton in a cameo as the Bookkeeper. I really hope this turns into a recurring role for him. This series is firing on all cylinders now. I can't recall having so many great episodes back to back to back before.

Up till now, Detective Carter (Taraji P. Henson) has been more or less relegated to the background as she searches for the mysterious Reese (Jim Caviezel). But that all changes here as Carter gets the spotlight as Reese and Finch (Michael Emerson) look to stop her untimely demise as the Machine spits out her number. This was a fantastic episode in which we get to learn a lot more about her character, where she came from as well as her family.

The main story of tracking down not 1, but 4 people who's lives may or may not be in danger was somewhat different because Reese (Jim Caviezel) can't track everyone all by himself. So, he has to recruit both Finch (Michael Emerson) and Detective Lionel Fusco (Kevin Chapman) to track the remaining 3. But that wasn't the most interesting part of the episode.

Pretty good epiode in which Finch kinda brings Carter into his inner circle...just enough so that she can understand exactly what he and Reese are doing overall in preventing crimes that she would more or less have to clean up after the fact. The main story itself took on a Rear Window bent with Reese confined to a wheelchair as he recuperates from last episode near fatal gunshot wound. We also see the "birth" of The Machine via flashbacks which also reveals his partner Nathan Ingram at this time played by Brett Cullen.

Nice to see Detective Carter (Taraji P. Henson) and Reese (Jim Caviezel) "working" together. I get the feeling that Reese's way of doing things (i.e. bending the law to serve his purpose in getting the job done) will rub Carter the wrong way and this union will be short-lived. I wondered when Reese would become proactive and start to dig a little deeper to find out more about the mysterious Finch (Michael Emerson). Putting Detective Lionel Fusco (Kevin Chapman) on the case of trailing him doesn't seem like the wisest decision. He's not what I would call "reliable". As for the main story, Andrea Gutierrez (April L. Hernandez) becomes a target once she openly defends her client Terrance King (Curtiss Cook) as innocent which puts a dirty Parole Officer (Vito D'Ambrosio) on edge.

Root Cause (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Star%20Ratings/HTL_05star.gif)
Root Cause is such a badass episode, which gives us a new player, a Hacker who seems to be pretty good at what she does. So good in fact that she can set up a patsy and frame him to take the fall of an assassination of a Congressman. That is if Reese and Finch didn't get in the way. The entire episode was rife with tension as Reese and Finch race against time to uncover the conspiracy to protect an innocent man and his family and prove his innocence. I always get a kick out of Reese's ability to take down highly trained agents and retrieve what he is after, namely a 'suspect'. The biggest inclusion here is the new character "Root" who has knowledge of who Finch is, I mean....Harold. This sh*t is getting more interesting with each new episode.

Wolf and Cub (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Star%20Ratings/HTL_05star.gif)
What a bad ass episode! In a page taken directly from Leon: The Professional, this one see Reese taking on 14-year-old Darren (Astro), as he teaches and helps him take down the gang that killed his older brother. The chemistry between these two was perfect. It looks like this has the makings of a recurring role for for him. The kid also had a pretty cool scene with Fusco, which seemed to humanize him. Maybe he is now receptive to turning over a leaf and becoming a legit Cop because he wants to and not because he is being force to do so by Reese and Finch.
The back-story with Finch is getting deeper and more enthralling. Can't wait to see where this is going.
No ScreenCaps for this episode since CBS is a Network run by f ucking idiots. So, with no online feed for Wolf and Cub, I can't do ScreenCaps. F uck CBS! (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Smilies/0%20All%20Smilies/HTL_mad.gif)

Another outstanding episode. Quite possibly the best one yet. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Pretty big twist at the end to find out the "Bad Guy" was CIA and smuggling diamonds was his job mandate in order to fund the "war on terrorism". No sooner do I mention Fusco turning into a 'Good Cop' that he had to get his hands dirty so that he can stay on the inside, where he is more valuable. Poor dude can't catch a break.
Still no ScreenCaps. CBS still sucks. See my rant (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/tv/tv-guide-watchlist/msg6113/#msg6113) for more information on the matter.

I hate having to use the DVR, but this show is too good to pass up because the people at CBS are f u c k i n g idiots. This was another fantastic episode, one that had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It was obvious who was behind this, but I didn't care. Getting there was half the fun. I liked the resolution of Adam (Matt Lauria) going back to buy the warehouse and then feeding the homeless. I got a lot of satisfaction when those Insider-Traders were arrested. I have nothing but anger for peopple that steal from people, money that families need to take care of their love ones. I have zero sympathy for any of those douche bags.
Elias (Enrico Colantoni) returning at the end was a nice twist and long overdue.

Baby Blue (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Star%20Ratings/HTL_05star.gif)
This was a bad ass episode. I've said it before and I'll say it again, POI is the best show on the air right now that I'm currently watching. Baby Blue was basically Three Men And A Baby, but with Guns. Okay, more like Two Men And A Baby. Just the idea of Finch and Reese having to take care of a 6 month old baby would be enough to entertain anyone. But throw in Elias and you got yourself the makings of a classic episode and certainly one of the best episodes in it's short existence. Just awesome stuff.
I don't want to toot my own horn and say "I told ya so". But, I TOLD YA SO!! I knew that Reese and Carter's partnership would be shortlived and that her bending the law to get things done, although successfully, would start to eat away at her. I said as much over on the CBS Forum and got laughed at, like I didn't know what I was talking about. Yeah, whatever. Bite me!

Solid episode. But the best part certainly was seeing Finch tripping out on Ecstasy. It was a little too comical on his end, which made it even funnier. Poor Fusco. He is never gonna be able to pay off his debt to Finch and Reese. The kicker is that he actually wants to be a good cop and do the right thing. He gets a taste of what it feels like doing good for a change.

Flesh and Blood (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Star%20Ratings/HTL_05star.gif)
Epic. That's all that needs to be said in describing Flesh and Blood, the episode that is basically the origin story for Elias (Enrico Colantoni) who is out to wipe out the 5 Don's running the Crime syndicate of New York to personally take over. Of course there is a hitch along the way and her name is Carter. So, what does he do? Kidnaps her son as leverage. Didn't matter, she refuses to stand down. That leaves it up for Reese and Finch to save the boy while fending off not only Elias' men, but the dirty Cops they work with. Great episode. I really wish this was a 2 hour episode.

Really good episode that has not one, but two good story-lines, both involving Reese. The first story takes place in present day as he tracks an Armored Car team that will be the target of an armed robbery. The second story takes place in 2010 involving his former Handler and Agent Snow. The first story is relevant because it affects HR (Dirty Cops) that he has Fusco in deep with. The second story fleshes out more of what Agent Snow is all about and what happened to Reese's Handler and how she and Reese were deemed collateral damage by the "company" they supposedly worked for. This one is VERY relevant given the fact that his Handler resurfaces at the end of the episode.

Many Happy Returns (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Star%20Ratings/HTL_05star.gif)
Many Happy Returns is another origin story that centers on Reese and what propels him to help those in need. This one has Two story's that come crashing into one another at the end, both involving Reese. The Cold Case from a year earlier that Carter is investigating has to do with a "Car accident" that was used as a cover to hide a murder. Reese's connection? The woman that he let go to have a "better life" is the victim of spousal abuse at the hands of her husband.
Flashfoward to current day and we get a better understanding why Reese is so hellbent on protecting a Woman who is being hunted down by her Husband, who just so happens to be a US Marshall. Speaking of which, it takes balls the size of grapfruits to attack 4 Marhsalls in their office and it was awesome to see Reese dispatching them with ease.
The ending was awesome! We all expect Reese to kill the Husband. The payoff is that Carter gets a phone call from a Warden in what appears to be a South American Prison. My guess it's Mexico. But it was a nice twist to make the Husband pay in a place he will never get out of. Also, it was really cool to see where Finch first "met" Reese, even though it was under bad circumstances. This is an great show that has layers upon layers.

No Good Deed (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Star%20Ratings/HTL_05star.gif)
Awesome episode. We are finally starting to get more information about both the Machine and Finch. With a security analyst; Peck, now snooping around and uncovering intel about this 'Machine', his life starts to unravel. First the people behind the Machine just look to discredit him and then ultimately to eliminate his all together. That of course is where Reese and Finch come in... to "save" him. But nothing works, so Finch does something really stupid....he tells the Peck that he created the Machine himself. Unbeknownst to him, his conversation was being recorded. Now they have a face, name and location. Finch just stepped in it big time.
Also cool was revealing something about Finch's past...namely the woman he loves and left behind to protect her. Just a fantastic episode from start to finish.

Best Season Finale this year for any series!! What an episode!!! Awesome!! And it had Amy Acker too!! It can't get any better than that. I really loved how all the story lines converge at the end with regards to Amy's character, Alicia tracking Finch, the showdown with HR in the building, the Feds and how Carter and Fusco learn how they are both working for Finch and Reese. Great episode for sure, but I kinda suspected that Amy's character was behind the plot to lure Finch out into the open. Now that she has and has kidnapped him, I'm really looking forward to Season 2 and seeing how this is gonna play out. Best New Show this year for me. Also, props for bringing back Paige Turco for this one.
I give this season....
