WB's 'Supergirl' lands at CBS (http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/09/19/supergirl-cbs-berlanti-adler-wb/)

I'm surprised that it took CBS as long as it did for them to jump into the Superhero waters that is taking over TV right now. As for this one in particular, I'm interested in how this is going to fare given the fact that Wonder Woman (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/tv's-greatest-hits-and-misses/wonder-woman-(2011)/msg6420/#msg6420) didn't even make it to a series order. I will definitely be tuning in and hoping for the best.

"SUPERGIRL" SERIES NOW CASTING LEAD SISTER ROLES (http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=56733)

Things moving ahead with Supergirl. I have faith in David Rapaport, that he will find another gem or two the parts.

LAURA BENANTI JOINS CBS' "SUPERGIRL" AS ALURA ZOR-EL (http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=59476)

Love the casting of Laura. But with this news, it pretty much spells out that her stint on Nashville will be done.

Now they just need to get Harrison Ford in this!

DEAN CAIN, HELEN SLATER JOIN "SUPERGIRL" CAST (http://www.comicbookresources.com/article/dean-cain-helen-slater-join-supergirl-cast)

What the f*ck! CBS is going all out to make sure that they tap into the fanboy crowd and I love it! It wouldn't shock me if they actually get Margot Kidder to pop up on the show as well.

I kinda like it. Not sure why, but I was expecting it to be more traditional, even though I knew they wouldn't go there.

I'm also surprised that they didn't 'tart' it up given the propensity to make it all about sex, even for a Network like CBS. And yes, I was definitely expecting a more revealing costume.

I actually don't have a problem with her being Strawberry Blond. I actually prefer it in a way.

First Look Trailer

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lm46-envrHo

Man, this was a long ass trailer! I feel like I just watched an entire episode with that. With that said, I'm now worried they are going to make her too ditzy. I really didn't like the way they made her out to be in this at all. I'm hoping that her acting all "blond" disappears by the end of the first episode. The other stuff looked pretty good. I'm still on board with this, but I'm a bit more cautious now after seeing the Trailer and how she comes off.

When they put the WHOLE pilot into the commercial, that's usually a sign to me either the show sucks or they have no faith in it.  Though they did this for "My Name Is Earl" as well.

Just a heads up, but the first episode leaked last week, a good 6 months early. Personally I haven't seen yet, but I have been hearing a lot of good things about it from those that have checked it out. They say it's very similar in tone to The Flash which is very encouraging. If I get my rig up and running soon, I will definitely be looking to check out the leaked Pilot.

Episode 1
Pilot

This thread is old. I didn't realize I started it back in 2014. In that time I have followed every bit of information that came out regarding the series. What was really hard was staying away from the leaked Pilot. I didn't want to be swayed because I was watching it 8 month earlier or however long ago it was leaked. So, I've been biding my time, waiting patiently and today finally arrived. I dug the Pilot. It was fun and I think they made a good choice in casting Melissa Benoist as Supergirl and Mehcad Brooks as James "Jimmy" Olsen. I also liked the idea of the Phantom Zone Prison crashing landing on Earth along with Kara because this at least levels the playing field. Sure, at the end of the day, Supergirl is always going to come out victorious. But at least with other enemies that share similar powers, it will have the benefit of being a 'fair fight'. With that said, there are some issues that they need to fix. I get that the show has to be 'lighthearted' given the fact that it's on CBS. At times it's still a little too rom-com-ish which is something I pointed out from the trailer. I'm on board as it is now for sure, but I'd like to see them tone down the happy, go lucky peppiness displayed during the Pilot as well as the on-the-nose dialogue being spoken by the characters.

Episode 2
Stronger Together

I enjoyed tonight's episode. It was fun and more importantly better than last weeks. Still not perfect, but they seemed to have already found the groove they are aiming for. I think the biggest jump for the series already was getting right into the whole Aunt Astra plot, which I didn't think would happen for quite some time. Figured they were going to be throwing a bunch of monster's of the week from the fallen prison at Supergirl to carry the series to the half way mark. I thought the special fx during their fight was particularly good. At least CBS isn't skimping here and making a concerted effort to compete with the other superhero shows. In a blink or your miss easter egg, we see Jay Jackson once again on TV as a news achor. Not sure if it was intended to be  Perd Hapley from Parks and Recreation or not, but in my mind, I'm gonna say it was just because I can.  ;D

Episode 3
Fight or Flight

Fun episode but we are still having to sit through some very cheesy dialogue from a handful of characters. You would think they could tighten that up a bit. There is no need to be so on-the-nose with the dialogue. I'm not a fan of Calista Flockhart's character at all. She is annoying as f*ck. I wouldn't object to the writers killing her off. One very cool thing was "seeing" Superman coming to the rescue of Supergirl. I wasn't expecting that at all because I figured that we wouldn't be seeing him anytime soon because this is her show and having him coming in 2 out of 3 episodes would give people the wrong impression of what the show is suppose to be. They can't use him as crutch all the time or people will come to expect him to be in most of the episodes.

Episode 4
Livewire

I found the dialogue to be incredibly bad, even by Supergirl standards. Even with that, I still enjoyed most of the episode and liked the new character LiveWire. FX looked good and Melissa Benoist is just adorable as Supergirl and makes it hard to walk away from a show that continues to fail when it comes to writing credible dialogue between characters. The other thing that I didn't like about this episode was Calista Flockhart. Her character is more annoying than anything else. Either make her "evil" to the extreme or kick her off the show. This middle ground for her is just boring.

How to Make The Flash / Supergirl Crossover Work - IGN Conversation

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6-mC1WBIdo

This is great news and very unexpected. Before the first episode even aired, CBS had gone on record saying any crossover, would not happen for 2-3 years. So, yeah, jacked to see this happen. Unclear if this is going to be a 2 episode crossover. As it stands now, it just has Flash jumping from CW to CBS for one episode. I like IGN's idea of how it should happen. Makes perfect and logical sense within the realm of this Superhero universe.

Episode 17
Manhunter

Yep, still watching Supergirl, even though I haven't posted any reviews in a while. The first half of the season was struggling to find it's legs. It was uneven. Some good episode and some not so good episodes. But the latter half of Season 1 has really picked up and they have been delivering pretty consistent episodes that are entertaining. Manhunter is by far the best. It was kind of a collage of Origins: J'onn J'onzz and Jeremiah meeting for the first time, Kara's first super heroic act as a kid and her first day on the job at Catco and Alex Danvers foray into the DEO. I really want to see more of J'onzz's story line. The character just looks so damn cool. I like how they finally found something for Lucy Lane to do with her taking over at the DEO. I always knew that Jeremiah was alive and tonight we get confirmation that he is being held at Project Cadmus. The ending was also interesting with Siobhan falling to her death only to scream loud enough to create a force field from smashing into the ground. I have no idea what character she is suppose to be playing, but it sets up a potential villain for Supergirl since she hates her as much as she does.

Episode 18
Worlds Finest

The episode I have been waiting for since it was announced. Fun episode, if not perfect. The only blemish for was the ridiculous "costume" that Siobhan Smythe / Silver Banshee wears. I don't know anything about this character. But her look just did not work for me at all. I don't get or understand her design. Oh well. Moving on. This one was really all about the team up between Supergirl and The Flash (Grant Gustin). I liked how they got The Flash into this episode in the manner he shows up. Ironically enough, they way he does more or less puts the kibosh on Supergirl ever appearing on The Flash, which is a bummer. Only way I see that happening is that Flash would have to to back to her Earth and bring her back to his. I love the scenes between them. Melissa Benoist was more giddy than I have ever seen her before. They were clearly enjoying making this episode for sure.

Supergirl: Former Wonder Woman Lynda Carter to Guest Star (http://screenrant.com/supergirl-lynda-carter-wonder-woman-guest-star/)

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!

Looks like the showrunner for SG is doing whatever they can to get eyeballs on the show because as it stands right now, Supergirl is one of a few shows yet to be renewed while the bulk of other CBS shows have already been told they are coming back. I know that Supergirl has been a bit underwhelming given the amount of hype it generated before its premiere, but it has gotten a lot better of late and I'd hate to see it not come back for another go-round. There's a lot of potential with the show.

‘Supergirl’ Lands at the CW for Season 2 (http://variety.com/2016/tv/news/supergirl-the-cw-season-2-1201773032/)

Not surprised one bit. The show belongs on CW and is the place where it should have been all along. I'm glad it's coming back for another season because now we can get more crossovers between Supergirl, The Flash and most likely Arrow.

The issue is the budget getting slashed... what's it going to look like at, what, 70% strength?

BTW, being on the CW, I hope that means it will be on Netflix like The Flash, The 100, and all the other CW shows!

I'm not really concerned about the budget because over on The Flash, they have done a stellar job with the Special FX. If anything, The Flash has even more FX than a typical episode of Supergirl.
