Star Wars Battle Pod Hands-On

....and here's the payoff.

There hasn't been an arcade game in the last 25 years that has made me want to seek it out. That has all changed with this one. I will definitely be on the look out for it. We don't have that many Arcades around here anymore. I think my best bet will be to try Dave's & Busters. They seem like a prime candidate to get one. We have a Chuckie Cheese nearby. But I don't think it would go there.

I think that's the future of arcade games, immersive displays.  I was just toying with this idea of an arcade game that's like Rock Band, but with real-feeling instruments with a surround screen that shows a massive cheering crowd, so you feel like a real rock band playing for a sold-out crowd.  And maybe there's pinhole cameras in the screen, so when you're done, you have this video of your band brining down the house.

One of the request that I personally made to the Devs of BandFuse (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/video-games/bandfuse-rock-legends/msg6244/#msg6244) was to add Live Crowd shots from the POV of the stage and have it differ from small Bar (a few customers watching) all the way to Arena/Stadium (40k plus fans rocking out). It was all for naught as the game failed miserably and died a quick death.
