Look, Get Hard is a dumb movie and I had no illusions it would be anything but that based on the trailer. Honestly, I had no intention of even checking this out, but my Library had a copy and nothing else to offer up for me as an alternative. Without knowing anything beyond Will Ferrell going to prison and needing to 'Get Hard' for life on the inside, I still knew how the movie would play out. This is basically the same set up as the far superior Nothing to Lose (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/dvd's-blu-rays/nothing-to-lose-(1997)/msg15021/#msg15021). Get Hard really does have a 'hard' time stetching this out to a full 90 minutes without repeating itself and it does....a lot. Granted, in spite of the dumb setup, I did find myself laughing out loud at a few of the jokes. I thought the scene with Kevin Hart playing 3 separate prisoners was his one bright spot in the movie. And Will had some great funny moments as well. But unfortunately jokes can't fix a bad movie. Skip the movie and just search on YouTube for the scenes that have a lot of likes instead.
