I really didn't know what to expect from Bad Words. On the surface, it looks like it's another dumb throwaway comedy that will appeal to the lowest common denominator. In a way, that appeal is appropriate. But I was surprised that there was some heart to the movie as well and a lot of that goes to Rohan Chand as the kid who absolutely steals the movie. I thought the movie was very funny, but I have to warn you if you haven't seen this yet, the humor can at times make you feel a little uncomfortable because Jason Bateman's character is in a way contributing to the delinquency of a minor. With that said. there are plenty of things you will find humorous throughout. The other thing that the movie does really well is keeping you guessing to the very end as to what happens. You think you know where the story is going, but you don't. There are a few twists and turns that actually elevate this higher than most other films that would tap the same plot. Bateman did an exceptional job in his directorial debut. Very impressed with him behind the camera. Highly recommend this as a Rent for sure.

Agree with everything you said.

I actually went into Bad Words with a feeling of dread... another bad movie. So surprised at how it entertained me. This is definitely not for the thin skinnned.
