https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bmlpxe2YiVU

The news about Red Dead Redemption 2 exploded yesterday with a cryptic tease and today we finally get confirmation we are in fact getting RD2. F*ck yeah! There's really only 3 games on the planet that I track with vengeance: GTA, Gears of War and Red Dead. I've been waiting a long time for this. I'm stoked that we also have a forthcoming Trailer set to drop in 2 days. Bring it on! So pumped!

Man, this looks sweeeeeet! I kinda expected this to be a prequel...but not with a new protagonist though. This just sets up a potential cameo of some sort with John Marston no doubt.

Red Dead Redemption 2: Official Gameplay Video

Monster trailer. A lot of information is given here and it looks amazing. The bulk of the trailer uses in-game footage. So what you see here is exactly what you will get once it's released. Was not expecting a 6 minute trailer and even bigger than that, at the end of the trailer, we are told that another one is on the way. Can't wait to get my hands on this game.

I also forgot to mention that the file size for RDR2 is a whopping 105gb! Sheesh!!!! The other newsworthy info is that Multiplayer / Online Mode will be up to 32 players at any given time.

So, I Pre-ordered RDR2 couple of days ago. I was allowed to download/install the game files as soon as I redeemed the code for the game. It literally took 4 hours to install all the files....roughly 90gb in size. It shouldn't have taken that long, but it did. No matter how many times I keep clicking the RDR2 Icon on my Xbox, it won't do anything other than tell me to "be patient". Arggh! So, it's just hours away before the game unlocks and I can play the f*cking thing. Not sure when then. I was of the idea that it would be midnight my time, but there are rumors that midnight applies to East Coast players and it will in fact unlock at 9pm here. So, we shall see.......

I am watching (well working and watching) a walkthrough done by I think his name is Mikel ice and Fire...he does super high dpi walkthroughs with no commentary.

I am about an hour into the game maybe more...it's a bit of a slow burn but I just look at it like a 60 hour movie so things are happening and it looks great!

damn 90 gigs!!!!!

wow.

I wish there was a PC version of the game...I was crossing my fingers a few weeks back when I checked that there might be one...so far no word.

My first choice was PC, but I don't see a PC version happening anytime soon. Rockstar is smart to just roll it out on Xbox and Playstation now....and if they decide to release on PC (my guess would be 2 years from now at the earliest. I'm using the GTA V PC as my basis since that took 2 years after the console release), then they will reap the rewards of players having to buy the game again. They know exactly what they are doing. They are sitting on Cash Cows with RDR and GTA.

BTW, the game did unlock last night at 9pm. So whoever called that was spot on.

I'm f*cking obsessed with RDR2. I can't get enough of the game. There is sooooooooooooooooooooooo much to do in the game. So many side quest and mission that aren't even connected to the main storyline. I honestly don't know how long it's going to take to finish the campaign story mode. Not rushing through it either. Enjoying the ride. But with RDR2 Online fast approaching at the end of November, it's just going to make complete the main game even longer....which I'm 100% ok with.  :)

wow...sounds so fun.

I wish they had done a PC version with the launch...but I get why they didn't.

plus I probably don't need that distraction!!

hahaha ;D

Here's my current update on RDR2. In the campaign story, I just started Chapter 6. This game is just so f*cking unreal. Beautiful game and the story itself has me totally engaged. Arthur Morgan is a bad ass motherf*cker. Great character. When I say I'm engaged, I mean just that. When I'm not playing the game.....I'm still thinking about everything that has happened so far....and looking forward to what's to come.

As for Red Dead Online, I've been playing that for the past few days. It's great.....but there are some major problems that need to be addressed moving forward. Yes, this is a Beta version and it's to stress test everything. There aren't any broken things in the game that needs fixing....but the Economy is a f*cking joke. Here's an example of how skewed things are. In the Campaign mode, you can get the Mauser Pistol for $250, but the same gun in Online will set you back $1k. What the f*ck!? So everything that we "earn" right now in Online is nothing, making this a grind in so many ways. Fix this before you officially release the Online mode.

Yeah I had heard that about the cost of things.  Still sounds fun!@

I need to watch a good walkthrough maybe.  I've seen about the first 2 hours of the game

So, last night I completed Chapter 6, which is the end of one major character in the game. So f*cking sad. What is it with Rockstar creating Western games that leave you depressed because of how they choose to end their story?

*Sigh*

Anyway, the Epilogue of the game is underway. Going to slow down my rate of play as I don't want to finish this game too fast. I want to savor every last bit of RDR2 as I can.

oh man.  Final Fantasy kills characters and when it happens...you are like "no god...what did I do wrong???"

hhahaha

well at least you are enjoying the ride~~!!!!!!

Cruising through the Epilogue. I fear that the game is winding down (story-wise) and this is making me slow things down a bit more. Trying to savor and make this game last as long as possible. Okay, with that out of the way, last night there was a scene that I knew was coming. Well, I was hoping to see happen that is. And that's when John Marston puts on his Classic Gunslinger Outfit from Red Dead Redemption. Rockstar knew this would get a big reaction and played it up in the cutscene.....but oh, how it works. All that was missing was 'Bad To The Bone' playing to the scene as it unfolds, much in the same way when Arnold comes out of the bar decked in his Biker outfit in T2.

....and that concludes Red Dead Redemption 2 with regards to the main Campaign Story, having just finished it and the final Mission is a ball-buster. I didn't have my two favorite six shooters when the mission started, so I was at a disadvantage going into it. It took about 5-6 tries before I even made it to the camp to where Micah and Dutch were hiding out. Once I got to the top of the Mountain at the first campsite, it was easy to maneuver around the sentries and take them out one by one. But getting there, sheeesh!

The final showdown between Marston, Micah and Dutch (with Sadie caught in the crossfire) was pretty good. I was however perplexed that I would have to go through all that trouble to get there, only for Dutch to shoot Micah. In that moment I was kinda p*ssed that I didn't get to shoot him.....and no sooner had I started b*tching about it, I was given the chance for the kill shot. It felt great to kill that motherf*cker. I've HATED that character since the moment he came on screen all the way back at the start of the game. He had it coming.

So, there are a ton of side missions I have yet to embark on, like Wanted Bounties and other stuff like that I still get to go back and redo missions and go for Gold. Most of the missions I did were either Bronze and Silver. I think I only got 5 or so Golds. So, there's still a lot left to do. But the main story is complete.

So, how do I feel about RDR2? Easily the best game I have played in years. Love everything about it. The characters, story, music, graphics. ALL OF IT! One thing that RDR2 offers that RDR didn't is that we now get to play the rest of RDR2 as John Marston, which the original game didn't for obvious reasons. I do have a sour taste in my mouth (just like I did with RDR) with Rockstar killing off Arthur Morgan. I really liked that character and I was hoping he would get a happy ending with his long-lost love. I thought that's where the story was heading. Nope. Anyway, yeah, LOVE THE GAME! This is my GAME OF THE YEAR. Don't care what the Game Awards Show says. THIS IS IT! I give this game 10 Stars out of 10.

sounds amazing....so are there any game experiences you'd stack higher than this?

or is this the bar now for you in terms of best game experience you've gone through

now did you stream this>?

It's pretty high up on my list. When a game hits all the marks and you walk away from it to do other things in real life and all you can think of is getting back to the game, then you know it's a winner. Yeah, I record all my gameplay.

did you get decent views?

so what games sit should to shoulder with this experience?

oh by the way.  I started off this morning listening to Rip It Out...figured that was a good way to start the musical year.  Totally took me back to Christmas 1978 and getting this album
amazing how KISS can be such a portal to that time.

GTA V and the first Read Dead Redemption. I need to go back and replay RDR now because EVERYTHING in that game is going to take on a different meaning. In that one we are following Marston around as he goes down his 'Hit List', but there is no connection to those on the list because we never see what they did in the past. We only hear what Marston tells us. In RDR2, we finally get the full story that is only hinted at in RDR. So yeah, gotta replay that and I'm sure my connection is going to be deeper than without the knowledge of who they were/are.

I just can't shake the music from RDR2. I find myself just riding my horse around just to listen to the music. Posted the Live Medley and the full soundtrack. Definitely check them out. You don't have to play the game to enjoy amazing music. With that said, there is a connection to very specific songs that underscore very pivotal scenes in the game. So when I hear certain songs, I'm transported right back into those moments. That's the joy of music.
