A couple of VLS that aims to train photographers (old and new alike) in the art of lighting. The first link (Virtual Lighting Studio) is free and is a browser-based program. No download required. The second link (set.a.light 3D) is software-based, but you can try it out for free. You get what you pay for, so clearly set.a.light 3D is the winner here given how inclusive and robust it is.
