Kick-Ass 2 is not the sequel I was hoping to get. This is nowhere near the same level as the first movie. It's not a horrible movie, it's just a big letdown because I had high hopes in seeing where the characters would go. There are a couple of things that really marred KA2. First, there was hardly any Hit Girl, save for the final showdown at the end and even that wasn't thrilling like KA1. What we get is more Mindy, which in turned felt more like Mean Girls than anything else and that didn't really pay off either. Making them barf and sh*t their pants was meh. The other thing I found quite annoying was how they turned David / Kick-Ass into a whining, broken record for most of the film. Jim Carrey's role although interesting really didn't deliver all that much either since his part is cut relatively short. As for the rest of the cast, it was kind of weird to see two notable characters with new actors this time around. No Evan Peters and no Omari Hardwick, not that I even know who Omari is outside of KA1. Anyway, I would not recommend this one as the story itself is aimless and kind of all over the map leading to a confrontation that isn't well earned by the time you get there. If that isn't bad enough, we only get one scene with Lyndsy Fonseca before she disappears. Sigh.
