First off I have to say that I'm a huge fan of War movies. Anything about WWI, WWII, Vietnam, Civil War or specific incidents of a war like Pearl Harbor and Normandy. You name it, I'm there. So when I first heard about Valkarie, the true story about the assassination attempt on Adolph Hitler, I was stoked. I just got around to checking this out. How was it? :::sigh::: I dunno what it is, but for whatever reason, I just couldn't fully commit to the movie. I don't know if it's the British/American accents that threw me off or Tom Cruise himself, who was definitely miscast in the role of Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg.

This isn't me bashing against Cruise for the sake of bashing on him. I can and do watch his movies regardless of what's going on in his personal life. But he just wasn't meant to play this role. Perhaps it was too much baggage to look pass to fully enjoy the movie? The film looks amazing and sounds just the same as well. They had a stellar supporting cast. So why isn't this movie better in my eyes...and ears?

I think I have to watch this one again and see if I can connect with it, more so than I did the first time around. As for now, I would say it's a Rent.
