Why Him? is another movie that I totally forgot about until recently. It was never on my must-see films because the Trailer pretty much tells you exactly what kind of by-the-numbers plot of Crazy Boyfriend-meets-straight-laced-Family that we've already seen before. It has been done a million times already and it will be done a million times more. When they say actors do one for themselves and one for the studio, well, you know where this flick falls in line with that mantra. With that said, I found this flick to be funny in a lot of places. Really wasn't expecting much here and maybe that's why I liked the movie for what it was. Cheap, low-brow humor. A lot of dick and fart jokes. This isn't rocket science. I just thought the interplay between James Franco and Bryan Cranston was what carried the flick. But it was Keegan-Michael Key and Kaley Cuoco that provided some of the more memorable jokes and gags. The running KISS jokes throughout the flick was a nice touch as a life long fan....but even I had no idea that both Gene and Paul would actually make a cameo. Megan Mullally was also hilarious. Definitely worth a Rent.
