Red. Retired, Extremely Dangerous. I just got around to finally watching this, something I have been meaning to check out since I first heard about the cast involved. This movie was well worth the wait. I thought everything about it was good. The story, the characters and the stellar cast. And what a cast we get. Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren, Mary-Louise Parker, Brian Cox, Karl Urban and Richard Dreyfuss.

They were all so good that it's really hard for me to pick a favorite here. I am leaning toward Malkovich. He did steal every scene he was in and in one particular scene, he literally had me howling with laughter. The scene in question is of course the strap-on bomb vest, in which he chases after the Vice President.  (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Smilies/0%20All%20Smilies/lol.gif) Tears were coming out of my eyes from laughing so hard. Another awesome moment was definitely seeing Helen Mirren unloading semi-automatic weapons and being pretty convincing in do so. This is probably the gnarliest site gag you will ever see. Her. Guns. Awesome.

The story of retired Government Operatives being hunted down and forced to take on one last job has been told countless times before. But this seemed fresh and alive. It's an action comedy and there are times where you get the feeling the actors are giving you a 'wink' that this is so outlandish in what they are doing, but that they are also having the time of their lives doing it. The entire time I was watching Red, I kept telling myself "they better make a sequel to this or I'm going to be very disappointed". Well, the next installment is slated to begin filming in 2012. Me happy.  (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Smilies/0%20All%20Smilies/GleeClappingHands.gif)

Highly recommend this. Definitely a Buy.
