This actually looks good. I really like the highway interface of BandFuse more than I do of Rocksmith because it's a throwback to my days of learning with the tab. Rocksmith's 3D highway is kinda weird. I still intend to get Rocksmith, but I've been too busy to play games lately. But if BandFuse comes out before I get around to picking up Rocksmith, I would probably grab this one first. Curious to see what songs will ship with the game.

can you imagine the shredders this is going to produce...I mean seriously.

writing music and having great chops really is two totally different skill sets...but still man there's going to be some sick ass guitar players of ALL ages when this stuff really takes off.

the whole thing might implode because playing well won't be a big deal anymore......pretty interesting terrain this stuff is treading....if you really think about it.

lots of people who can technically play guitar amazingly....but will this create more bands, more guitar legends.....or will it take guitar to more of a video game perception of a useless skill.

:)

Actually, I think this game will make better, all around players with chord progressions and maybe theory (if it goes that deep) than just turning out shredders. Usually games like this, Rockband, Rocksmith are going to require you to learn the basic stuff before they will let you advance further into the game. So, the idea of jumping to "learning the fastest, meanest guitar lick" won't really apply here. Now, I'm basing this off of past games and what they have done and I don't know anything about what will come in this game as far as beginning, intermediate and advance playing. But I am very interested in this particular game.

I wish I had this type of learning tool back when I first started playing guitar because then I would have been a more well-rounded player back then instead of my stupid mentality of trying to outplay Mr. Vai.

I still feel that way with stuff...I go from zero to sixty...I play guitar 2 or 3 nights and I am already imagining headlining the 02 Arena in London and how I might have to clear my schedule because me and Jimmy Page will be working together a few weeks later.

;)

hahahahahaha

no wonder I am always stressed out.

I realized this morning I do that....the second I get into something I am always looking to the top...and then even topping myself when I get to the top...it's very strange...but something I'd like to cool down a little.

I don't want to lose my "edge" so to speak...but I also don't want to be ridiculous about things

:)

We will have to do a Battle Of The Bands / Guitar Duel.

You shred.

I play bar chords.

Winner takes all.

that game looks amazing....it's such an interesting step in music...I am not even sure what it will bring

will be really wild to see what this all evolves into...and will there be tons of amazing players with chops for days....8 year olds playing Yngwie....Paul Gilberts that are 6.

who knows.

Out of all the games that have been released lately that are more tools than actual game (Rockband, Rocksmith and BandFuse), this one looks to be the real thing because they are using the standard Tab highway that we both grew up devouring in the pages of Guitar For The Practicing Musician. So there won't that awkward phase of trying to relearn a new highway system that RB and RS were intent on recreating.

Oh, and I'm definitely Buying this one on release day. You might not see or hear from me for a couple of months after the fact. (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Smilies/0%20All%20Smilies/headbanginggenesimmons.gif)

good to know...I saw the scroll tab and it looked like something I could get immediately.

looks promising...I am sure like any first gen game it will have some things to improve on..but it looks pretty damn cool.

telling you, there's going to be a LOT of great players from this....I always wondered what it would have been like for my friends who couldn't play guitar but could absolutely tear it up on Guitar Hero...so I guess in a short while I will know.

I checked out the link.....how many songs do you think this will come with.

That short list was pretty weak...I mean if that's 5% of the songs....than maybe it's a good start.....but I'd hope for 80-100 tracks.

This is how these types of games are advertised. They leak the song list a little at a time to keep interest in the game up to the release date. Rockband and Guitar Hero kind of set the standard here. Trust me, there will be a lot more songs shipped with the game. I'd be shocked if it didn't ship with at least 60-70 songs on disc. After that they will offer DLC. How many per week or month is still unknown at this time.
Title: Re: BandFuse: Rock Legends
Post by: boyinblack80 on May 11, 2012, 08:24:12 pm
yeah I mean that initial list is ok....but I thought the last version of Guitar Hero 'world tour'  really slayed it...they had a TON of great music...and although a person could always dream for more....my first introduction of the game...I was SUPER  impressed by what they offered.

great variety too....they had cold play, some classic rock, bands like tool, and 30 seconds to mars, at the drive in, as well as some great metal, bands like muse, Heart, Skynard, Nirvana No Doubt, Metallica Hendrix....it was and is off the charts.

I didn't even realize all the downloadable content they had also...it's SICK/

so I hope this game can hang with a list like this:

Post by: Chiprocks1 on May 11, 2012, 08:28:50 pm
As good as that list is, Rockband has a MASSIVE library of DLC that actually puts that list to shame. The songs that they have so far for BandFuse is encouraging that they were able to get licenses for some pretty big name artist at launch.

Rocksmith or BandFuse. Which Game Will You Choose? (http://venturebeat.com/2012/06/16/rocksmith-or-bandfuse-which-music-game-will-you-choose/)

An interesting side by side comparison of both games. To be fair, they are using a demo version of BandFuse. So any of the cons that are in BandFuse are sure to be addressed and fixed by the time of the games release. When that is, I have no idea. I was actually searching for an official release date for the game when I came across this "review".

Rocksmith has been out for a couple of years. You can get it for about 40 bucks on Amazon. Bandfuse doesn't have a release date, therefor no price point. I'm getting impatient waiting for BandFuse to come out. So I'm thinking I might get Rocksmith in the mean time. Both games allow you to plug any guitar directly into your Xbox.

Whichever game you get, you're gonna need to get a subscription for Xbox Live so that we can jam late into the night on the fly. That way there will be some time set aside to play Zep and KISS tunes.

Title: Re: BandFuse: Rock Legends
Post by: Chiprocks1 on November 13, 2012, 09:34:55 pm
I'm sure it's just the Silver Account you have. It's automatic when you register your 360. The Gold Account is what you need to play live with other people and cost about 50 bucks a year. So unless you set up your account for renewal with a credit card when you registered, it's most likely a Silver. Now the PS3 Live is actually free. But I don't have a PS3, so it's a moot point for me.

Band Fuse: Rock Legends - Artist Pack (Amazon) (http://www.amazon.com/video-games/dp/B00B5P50GI)

Finally got a release date. It's set to drop on December 31, 2013. The price of $69.99 is $10 more then the average "game". I'm okay with this given what we are going to get on disc. I'm also looking toward getting Rocksmith 2014 Edition as well. But that one is insanely priced at $79.99. Not sure why this is $20 more than the norm though.
Title: Re: BandFuse: Rock Legends
Post by: boyinblack80 on June 12, 2013, 03:20:52 pm
wow that was horrible.

I'd never have those guys demo-ing that stuff...and I'd for sure not show that online.

I know the game is for non pro's but you want to show a high end product and not have it sound like crap/

that was keeping it a bit "too real"
Title: Re: BandFuse: Rock Legends
Post by: Chiprocks1 on June 12, 2013, 03:52:36 pm
I'm still interested in the game, but I would have definitely gone with a more seasoned musician(s) rather than 4 guys that "worked on the game that also play". That was more or less ego driven on their part knowing they would be getting a lot of camera time.
Title: Re: BandFuse: Rock Legends

and it sucked!

hahahahaha

yeah I mean, we all know not everyone at home can sing in key etc.  But for me, I want to dream of being great and sounding great...so showing me below average...would be the equivalent of showing a demo of game with a below average gamer who's stuck and going in circles getting killed.

it's not what is going to inspire me to buy that game!

Right now, if you had to choose only one game to get in the genre, which would you pick? BandFuse or Rocksmith? Doesn't matter if you actually get either, just trying to gauge as a viewer, who is winning the battle of promotion is all.

I tend to agree. Remember this one (BandFuse) has yet to be released, whereas Rocksmith has already been out for a couple of years. Curious to see what the new 2014 Edition will have to offer. I've been searching YouTube for some E3 Floor Demos, but have yet to find any uploaded. The one thing that BandFuse has going for it is the fact that it has the standard Tab, whereas Rocksmith is kind of funky. Another reason why I'm anxious to find a floor demo to see if they have tighten it up any. Go toward more traditional tab that is.

Bandfuse Rock Legends Preview: Top Ten Facts You Need To Know (http://www.heavy.com/games/2013/07/bandfuse-rock-legends-preview-spoilers/)

Really not sure what to make of Bandfuse anymore. There has been a lot of bashing on their Official Facebook page due to the lack of any information coming. They have been absent from their site for over a month and the swell of hatred toward the designers and engineers is growing more and more with each passing day. The link above is the only new information to come out in a month and was posted today by a fan. It blows my mind that the designers care so little about p*ssing off potential customers. We know that they read their Facebook pages daily, and yet....nothing. Bad business model on their end for sure.
Title: Re: BandFuse: Rock Legends

So, BandFuse FINALLY posted on their Facebook page, giving us an official release date of November 19th, 2013. The only problem, no one really cares anymore. Why? A couple of reasons are at factor here. First, they are just too late in grabbing potential fans of the game because everyone is pumped and ready for Rocksmith 2014, especially after their onslaught of video releases a few days ago that really hit the mark in selling it's game. The other factor against BandFuse is they **** off way too many people by refusing to answer any of our questions and concerns over on their FB page. Too little, too late if you ask me.

Am I still interested in BandFuse: Rock Legends? Sure. But I will not be picking this up on release day as my money is going to RS2014 instead. I will wait, watch and see what the reviews are like for this one. It will have to be a Grand Slam across the boards regarding reviews to make me decide to pick this up within the first week. Otherwise, I will just sit it out and wait for a huge price drop before I shell out my money and that's only if the reviews are good.

They are getting raked over the coals right now on Facebook for their sh*tty PR and telling them that they won't be buying their product because of it. Had they responded to our questions in their "self imposed" exile for 2 months, this wouldn't be happening and the majority of people, myself included, would be buying both on release day. Their loss.

Picked up BandFuse today and I'm not happy. Having cable / audio issues right out of the box. Audio is very iffy. Slight lag...but that was expected. The interface for the game does look good and the menu is easy to navigate. But all that mean jack sh*t if the audio problems persist. I will try to get more out of the game and see if there are bugs that can be fixed with patches. It's not encouraging as the Dev team is not responding to anyone's emails on their official site or on Facebook. Not cool.

After a rocky start getting my cable to work, I haven't had any issues with it the last couple of hours. Hopefully it was just a bad set up. Really not sure what has changed because I didn't do anything differently to fix the problem other than rebooting the system a few times. Anyway, with that out of the way, I'm starting to warm up to the game and I will say immediately that the Career Mode was and is a must. I'm enjoying Career Mode a lot and it keeps you moving forward. This is the one negative that Rocksmith 2014 failed at.

One thing I'd like to know is, is there a way to turn off the music videos? It's kind of pointless having it on screen while I'm forcused on the notes flying by. Anyways, give Career Mode a shot....it's fun and forces you to play songs that aren't neccessarly top priority songs on your list. I'm still an 'Opening Act' but closing in fast on jumping to the next level.
