In for a Pence, in for a pound.

1) It's not a transcript, it's a summary.  Slashed all to h*ll.  And they still couldn't get it right.

2) I've been tough on Pelosi for not impeaching until now, though Pence is as worse if not more so than Drumpf, and we really don't want pardons.  I knew Pence was rotten and had to go, and he's definitely involved in this Ukraine thing (same as Barr, who should never have been Attorney General in the first placee)... but I only now realized that holy sh*t, if they all go down that makes Pelosi President.  Yeah, no wonder she's been treading carefully, this goes wrong and it looks like a coup (even though it's technically undoing a coup).  That's going to make for some real tough optics in the 2020 election.  At least Pelosi isn't RUNNING and she'd only be POTUS for less than a year, probably, so that helps.  And quite frankly, that's more or less what I was thinking in 2016: the second they knew that there was foreign interference with the election, they should have started investigations and counter-operations, and prepare for paper ballots and if that went PAST inauguration time, Biden as VP should have severed as interim President with the top priority of holding a secure election as soon as possible, ideally within a year's timespan.

3) I also remembered that the GOP killed the idea of primaries, so now they're more or less committed to stand by their man. And Drumpf combined his relection campaign with the GOP reelection campaign, which already seemed like a scam to just steal fundraising money, but now... yeah, that could really cripple them next year.  This is actually a good rationale FOR public funded campaigns and elections, rather than private donors.

4) Evidently, if there was secret voting to impeach Drumpf, it would pass ... I want to say Congress with 30 Rs.  Which means 30 Republicans are cowards and know the right thing to do but won't act.  An impeachment hearing, especially a clear cut simple one like this, you don't want to be on the wrong side of when re-election comes around.

The other day, my neighbour Harry had his third birthday party.  Big deal, three.  Brought along this big dinosaur balloon that my sister found because I thought it would be a fun little extra.  They abused the sh*t out of that balloon, smacking that thing around with whip-speed open palms.

My point is: the humans in Jurassic Park probably have it coming.

Evidently the original book isn't that good either, the movie elevated the material with Tom Hanks, great direction, and a massive dose of nostalgia.

I wasn't either, but the date makes perfect sense.

I'm torn.  On the one hand, it LOOKS pretty cool.  Insofar as it looks like a movie.

However, two things stick out at me that aren't problems... but they kinda rub me the wrong way.  First, the ship looks like the Serenity.  It just looks like any other spaceship.  There's nothing terribly iconic or interesting about it.  It also reminds me of the one from Killjoys.  Two: the line of Crabonite-frozen prisoners.  Yeah, it's a good shot, but that was only ever used once.  It was kind of an odd thing to do at the time, there was no guarantee that Han would survive, and it just happened to be a thing they could do at the location they were at.  This is like... it doesn't gel with me.  It feels more like "here's more of what worked before," which isn't really gripping to me.

Well, i would assume the next movie, which comes out rather soon, will sort of tell us what happens to the Resistance.  So how many more seasons can you have?

Video Games / Re: E3 2019

Little late to this one, because... well, I didn't think that anything at E3 would interest me.  Boy was I wrong:

Naturally, I JUST redid my TV setup and wired in my N64 when I see this news about the plug in HDMI adapter, so I'll have to do it again.  Very keen on that.  Combine that with an M Cable or M Enhancer (which I am TOTALLY getting, provided that it works as described), and I could get some great results.  I don't have a Gamecube that's compatible with that HDMI adapter, but if I did...

Actually, I have an HDMI switch, I just put the M on the output of that, that should take care of everything.

So therefore, I'm not in the market for that Hyperkin N64 thing, especially given that it's software emulation... but that new controller DOES intrigue me.   I may wind up getting one of those.  That's what has me excited, new peripherals.

The mini arcade cabinets are cool, too... not that I'm in the market for one of those either, but this whole technological trend of a  smaller, higher quality version of what we used to have... I like that.  The screens look sharp, there are more games on there... presumably they need less power.  I think that's cool.

I even like that portable NES dealie, too.  Again, I don't need one, but I love the idea of having a childhood item you can hold in yuour hand.  Seems like something a lot of people could modify.  And if it's only just a unit you can take with you to test games in the field, that's cool too.

Fifiteen minute video showcasing Kim Jung Gi.  Wanted to draw so bad after seeing this.

Oh, they are.  A co-worker of mine used to do that (he was the Beast.  Though he actually looks like Yarp from Hot Fuzz).

I do think they got some good lookalikes for Rey there, judging by the videos.

This whole thing I found very adorable.

Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery

I saw it pop up on Netflix, and I got a wild hair up my butt to finally extend it and put the deleted scenes back in.  It only wound up taking half an hour, which was way less than I thought, but I had to lose one scene (the "we're called flight attendants now!" one was too low res and the audio too blown).  I put the Rob Lowe scene after the destruction of the base rather than break the flow, and moved the "wife of the henchman" scene to after the credits.  I was able to find a widescreen version of the Chrisdtian Slater cameo, which is nice.  Ther others are in 4:3 but they work all right.  I'll do a few more tweaks but aside from that, I think it came out pretty good.

I don't know when or if I'll do the other ones though.  I mostly did this one because those extra scenes are as baked into my brain as the actual movie is.

Still funny.

I could have sworn I posted this.  No matter, love this video, seen it plenty of times... even made GIFs of it.

Is it weird that this is my first exposure to Eilish?

Realized we didn't have a thread for this one yet.

Not much to go on yet, but I wanted to share this quick five minute intro to what Dune is.
